My husband, bmwcyle, has been saying Blake could win this whole thing all along, pretty much since they've been in the bigger theater. I really hope he's wrong. This was the girls' year for talent. From the first show when it was down to 12 guys, they haven't been as good as the ladies.
That’s what the Idol “expert” was saying on Fox & Friends this morning. That Melinda was “kind of old” and that Simon’s endorsement jinxed her. I think having the 2 ladies would have been great—they have completely different sounds and stage presence. I still feel very let down and sad.
God...that would increase the size of his mouth too wouldn’t it? And affect his singing? They look so fake, I will avoid veneers that’s for sure.

Oh yeah, the guy who lost out to the Soul PaTROLLers and Tweenie Boppers’ favorites. The one who has the double platinum album that will likely go 3 platinum.

I’m pulling for Jordin to win this now.
Blake seems like a nice kid but he’s all gimmick and not much of a “singer.” Jordin has a great set of pipes! She can really sing.
I’m guessing that the Melinda vote will swing in Jordin’s favor too. Let’s hope it’s enough to put her over the top.
So far, here’s what I thought of the seasons:
1) Kelly wins - she was great and has a great career.
2) Ruben sandwich beats out Clay. Ruben’s pretty much done nothing. Clay should have won. American screws up.
3) Fantasia wins over Diana. Diana was very young (Like Jordin) but a great singer. Both Latoya London AND Jennifer Hudson were much better singers than Fantasia too. We screwed up again.
4) Carrie Underwood. Best Idol so far IMHO. Great voice and seems like she’s still down to earth. (Although she needs to eat a sandwich once in a while)
5) Taylor Hicks. Well...he was the best “entertainer” of last season but Chris Daughtry was the better singer. Chris’s CD did very well. McPhee? Well, she was “hot.”
6) OK.....Melinda was the best singer, Jordin is younger and almost as good. Blake has the “gimmick.”
If Jordin wins, OK....I can accept that. Blake wins? End of the line for me watching.
If he keeps smoking then they will be darkened in no time.
Chris is the best they have ever had.
His teeth were done by a top rate guy in Beverly Hills so the work is going to be perfect.
When you start messing around with your mouth it can have an impact on your singing. The veneers were a pretty easy way to go.
Quick and easy but ugly and unnatural looking. I think the world would have been cool to see him in braces for a year or two, plus they can do a lot with braces that no one sees.
As a pure singer I will say no way. As a marketable package? Yes.
I think Jordin will be a good role model for kids who will listen to her music.
It’s no secret that quite a few of the contestants this year have been Christians, and I can say it HAS showed. Maybe from an entertainment standpoint it’s been boring, but I have noticed a bond between them that’s visible especially when they are together on stage. Performing or just sitting waiting for results, they appear to be a close bunch. That alone should make for a great finale and a great summer tour!
Paula says it often enough, if you want your favorite to stay, you need to vote. I liked listening to Melinda sing, however I really miss Lakisha, she gave me goosebumps!
Oh, dear, I didn’t know Elliot smoked. Aside from health issues, it will eventually ruin his voice. His particular type of voice, that is ... Smoky-voiced singers (like, say, Chris Daughtry or the late Janis Joplin) can get away with behaviors such as smoking that “roughen” the voice, but Elliot has a beautiful “ringing” tone to his voice that will only be screwed up by smoking. I really hope he wises up and stops that!!
How’s he doing otherwise? He looked healthy and happy. Any good gossip? :)
