Yep! Four hours of voting for the finale. (I thought my arm would fall off! LOL) I voted for Taylor last year and I would do it again! :)

I was disappointed with his cd, mostly because I didn’t like what they did to one of his pre idol songs, arrangement wise. It was excellent pre idol, he should have left it alone. But, all in all his cd is merely ok, imo.

I’m hoping his next one will be better, but, I fully recognize that he is better as an entertainer and that’s ok with me.

For example when I go out for the night, I’d rather hear a live band (Taylor in this instance) than a DJ (cd’s). But, that’s just me, I understand that some prefer DJ’s.

I am a Jordin fan. I want her to lose and have the freedom to follow her own path. I think that she could become the first big standards-cabaret-smallroom singer of this century and I want to see that happen. Her phrasing of the standards is perfect, imo. She feels what she's singing and puts it over without syrup. I prefer her version of 'I Who Have Nothing' to the Tom Jones original. Both Broadway and The Cafe Carlisle are calling.

I don't bother with AI until it gets down to about eight so I didn't see all the history. I knew that they were pushing hard for no-neck to win but I never saw it, to me she's too much of a technician, not enough of herself. For me she really blew the Larry Graham (Houston did it second) heart-wrencher. It should give chills. Her version was emotionally flat.

Blake is interesting. I think he'll win because this is the first AI that doesn't have to be forced into a race/gender based decision and because the producers will get a bigger bang for their buck come CD release time.....

Oh, did we believe that the voters decide?

LOL. Remember it well.

I was surprised by it too. His pre-Idol stuff wasn’t bad. I was impressed by his cover of “Southbound”. They should have allowed him to just do what he does best. Maybe they will next time around. You’re right about him being an entertainer.

Here are the two charts from zabasearch. (I have no idea what is up with them this year)

LOL...I thought the same thing. His hair looks great on him, but the teeth are ‘too perfect’.....

Looks like too close to call — Jordin trails Blake slightly over the last two weeks... where will Melinda’s votes go? I think Jordin is more likely than Blake to pick them up, but who knows?

Doesn't matter to me this year.....they are all the same to me towards the end....

I think the last show is different. Some people will just not bother voting because their favorite is gone & they don’t see a reason to make the effort while others who have never even voted before will vote for the first time. I think this is going to be pretty close.

Or will Melinda's fans feel robbed and either not vote, or feel robbed by Jordin and vote for Blake? The three diva's voters were loyal and I read on various forums those that wouldn't take their votes to one of the other divas.

I don't say this to be mean but did anyone else think that if Melinda was a cartoon animal, she would look like this?

I'm 37 and I voted for him, several times. At this stage in the competition, it is not just about the singing--it's the whole package. I think Melinda has the best vocals but her stage prescence is hit or miss. When she's not singing, she's completely awkward. Jordin is a good singer but again, no real stage personality, and she insists on singing out of date material.

It's funny how a lot of freepers are trashing the way Blake dresses, and I don't want that to come off as insulting. I live near MSU, along with four other college campuses. It's not the teens who dress like Blake around here, it's the collegians, and there are thousands of them. I guess I'm just used to seeing people dress like that, "modern retro." That fake tuxedo t-shirt deal he wore recently made me want to hurl, however. Wearing a shirt like that should be punishable by law.

"Melinda is very pretty...she has a real, soft, lady-like charm about her. This is a travesty—her voice is superb."

I have to admit to sometimes thinking Melinda was better than this competition. She needed to do it, IMHO, to gain her confidence yet, unlike the other contestants, she doesn't need AI to 'make it' now that the public has heard her.

Like Taylor, I don't know if Melinda is marketable to the iTunes buying young adults but will do well touring and playing live once she is on HER stage singing HER songs. From gospel to Tina Turner..she can sing it all.

I'm pulling for Jordin now. Tho I will admit that Blake's beatbox thing is kinda cool to me when it's not overdone.

I'm with ya, Greliss. I voted for Blake several times because he is the most entertaining. If you go to a Melinda concert, you'd be bored by the 5th song.

Did you happen to notice that Melinda had the smallest crowds at her hometown? The camera angles were carefully not to show the lack of depth of the crowds. There were no helicopter shots like there were for Blake and Jordin. That in itself tells us that Melinda doesn't have the draw of the other two. Best vocals, yes, but draw? No.

In the end, a Blake/Gina final would have been fantastic but I'll take a Blake/Jordin with Blake winning.

They put those damn veneers on him, which basicially go over your existing teeth. That changes the whole shape of your mouth. He should have taken the time to get his real teeth straighted and shined.

(Fred) I wish he would announce already.

I do too. But I think he's playing it smart by waiting.

Fred was on the Don and Roma radio show here in Chicago and said that he thinks presidential campaigns are way too long and by the time the actual election comes around people are just sick of the candidates (paraphrasing). I think the interview is still on wls.com on the Don and Roma page if you are interested.

Remember Kimberly Locke who was eliminated at the third spot? I thought she was terrific - I see she’s subbing on the View.

She's on VH1's Celebrity Fit Club getting harassed by Screech from Saved By the Bell, too.

I know that these days its easy to make your own CD but I was googling Melinda and saw that she cut a CD several years ago. I wish AI would put some limitations on this show to keep it a true amateur competition. Melinda, Taylor, Blake and others are basically semi-professionals.

Sheesh, I'm disappointed too, but there's no reason to call the suicide hotline.

LOL! Exactly. It's just a TV show that this season has stunk to high heaven, so it really shouldn't come as any surprise.
