can’t believe blake stays and melinda goes Average (to be exceeding kind about it) boy singer beats great woman singer. Lotta teenybopper girls voting.
Melinda probably has the best voice of any contestant in the history of the show, but real talent means very little in today's music industry.

I do think this way is better for her career...just look at Chris Daughtry and Eliot Yamin. She gets to keep all the money she earns and doesn’t have to share it with American Idol.

I know she’ll still have a great career—it’s just so wrong that the talent this year was so lacking and the real talent gets punished because it’s not “teeny bopper” or “marketable.”

Plus she’s not locked into the American Idol contracts and obligations.
I’m pretty sure Simon will give her a contract regardless of her being booted off.

I DO think the divas split votes, BUT, I think Melinda had more votes, but that AI had already picked Jordin to win this year so they let Melinda go. As long as the two divas remained, they were going to split votes.
I said last week that I thought Blake would do well, because there are some people that just prefer male singers.

but that’s who buys cd’s ! I disagree. I think that demographic is downloading certain songs and not buying whole cd's. They are also downloading from freebie sites.
I think the older demographic are the one that buy cd's, they are the ones used to having hard copies, like 33's and 45's. jmo
