It is going to be ugly if Iraq continues on its present course. That genie is out of the bottle, and it is proving very tough to get it back in. Novak printed somthing that the "GOP Senators" have decided Bush must get out of Iraq by the end of 2007, or it is curtains. Which does suggest, that if the Novak "disclosure" is true, maybe the only principled course is curtains.
My two Senators went after Warner on Iraq. The good guys in the Senate don't talk to Novak only the wimps like Warner.
My first choice for the nominee will be a fiscally and socially conservative patriot.
He'll be a no nonsense articulate conservative with a fire in his belly to defeat the enemy, both foreign and domestic. He will have a solid track record of fighting for national security, for our constitutional rights, for limited government and for traditional family values.
He will be unabashedly and unapologetically diametrically opposed to Hillary Clinton/Osama Obama, et al. He will present to the nation a clear choice between unfettered godless Marxist liberalism and treasonous leftist cowardice, and true blue (red state) conservative patriotism. We do not choose to attempt to out Hillary Hillary.
He will demonstrate a calm, confident, iron willed ability to defeat Islamic Fascism, take immediate control of the borders and immigration policy, force a withdrawal of nuclear weapons from terrorist states like Iran and North Korea, allow and help Israel to defend herself from terrorism, take control and solve our nation's problems in obtaining/drilling for oil, deal with South American communism with a firm resolute hand, regain control of the House and Senate on his no nonsense conservative coattails, promote and get confirmed constitutionalist judges, drive for and overturn Roe vs Wade, fight for and re-institute states rights in education, crime fighting and local laws dealing with issues near and dear to the local people, fight for and make permanent and deepen the tax cuts while fighting for and actually reforming the income tax and privatizing social security and medicare, and permanently ending America's flirtatious ideas of possibly entertaining the idiotic leftist b/s called global warming.
Oh, did I leave off closing down, repealing, overturning, abolishing unconstitutional federal departments, agencies, congressional acts and court decisions and returning the power of government to the states and we the people? We'll take those too.
I don't see any reason for conservatives to promote or fight for anything less in the primary.
And I am 100% opposed to removing the pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, or freedom of religion planks from the conservative platform to accommodate a social liberal, even if he does have glittering star power.
I oppose giving up on conservative values. I oppose Arnoldizing the presidency. It's not working for California and will not work for America.
