The Shrew: Right now Rudy and his crack campaign staff are trying to walk the line of Foreign Policy/WOT perceived expertise...
Very few comments tonight have drawn me into this enlightening, and I must say spirited discussion. The area you describe is is in reality the handful of aces that Rudy currently holds. I will not make light of it. However, beyond 9/11 Rudy is left with a great deal less to commend him to the Pub base.
I, too, saw a red light flash when gun control was characterized as possibly not having its customary place near to the heart of the party. Rudy can not be too careful with this one.

Rudy will not win the Republican primary without solid 70+ acceptability to Republican voters. So you're saying conservative primary voters are going to vote for Washington insiders who as Congresscritters/Senatcritters had their chance to implement a conservative agenda instead of stoking their fat egos and running for the WH who pander to the far right, only to get blown away in the general.
