I don't like this style song, but he is excellent.
Hmm. AJ is not bad. This is his 5th try for AI. He has a good smile.
This fool doesn't have a loud enough voice....
He sounded pretty good.
I don't like this type of song either. I'm not sure about this kid. I think I'm letting influence my opinion.
Can we here a newer song? I'm really tired of older songs.
AJ did nothing for me. But then I'm a tough critic. Spike hair was the best tonight.
This last guy coming up was pretty good, if I remember correctly.
Phil Stacey up next.

We're told that he auditioned for Idol five times and finally got through this year. He's okay. (Sorry I can't be any more descriptive than that, but ... shrug)
Randy: "Vocally it was pretty good. You worked it out."
Paula: "You can definitely sing." Her eyes are only half open.
Simon: "It was good. Nothing great, nothing terrible. Very predictable."
Will we dig him?
#6210 - just read what you said - LOL. I still can't get over that Simon had anything to do with the Teletubbies.
I know. It's like we're in a lounge. No one is really different or standout. They're just ho-hum. Chris Sligh was good, but just because he was on key and sang something interesting.
I hate that beatbox guy was one of the top guys tonight.
maybe I'm just old or something but what is this beatbox stuff?
Hi, sorry I'm late, just got home. Listened on the radio as driving home and LOL'ed at Chris' smack down of Simon with the Il Divo, Teletubbies comment. Can't wait to watch my tape and see his face!! Bet Simon wishes for Taylor back now, cuz I don't remember Taylor ever giving Simon such a smack down. :) Have the feeling Chris is going to be way down on Simon's list now. :)
hehe...I'm so glad you asked....
"Chris Sligh was good, but just because he was on key and sang something interesting."
I'm with you 100%. I normally agree with Simon but I think he had something in his ears during Chris' tune.
But pretty much a boring night so far...
No one really bad or really good.
If anyone ever has a chance to watch the E! special on Simon, his life story is fascinating! His career was not handed to him, although his family was loaded and well-connected. His mother made him start in the mail room and he worked his way to the top, falling many times and getting back up again. His mum is lovely, too.
Making drum-machine kind of sounds with your mouth.
Not just you. But the first live shows are always a bit slow. Our expectations are very high, but the singers are nervous and want to play it safe.
Bet his bank account wasn't ashamed...
