That's pretty clever of Buckstein to come up with that! Great gimmick. But I'll bet you a dollar that AI sends him a nasty cease-and-desist letter.
Re Taylor being a "bad interview": I've only seen him in one interview, the one that Larry King did with him and McPhee not long after the competition. I couldn't tell if he was a good interview or not because every time he opened his mouth, she jumped in and overrode him! He was the victim of his own good manners. I think he only got about two whole sentences out during the whole interview. Perhaps that's part of his so-called problem -- he's just too darned polite!
Bleepin' Harvick!

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.When Jill Pickering and Katie Rapier met at BestSemesters Contemporary Music Center (CMC) during the spring semester of 2003, they immediately knew they wanted to make music together. But its a long road from co-writing and recording your first independent CD to reaching a wider audience. This Sunday, Feb. 18 at 1:00 p.m. EST, the pace of that journey will pick up considerably as Pickering and Rapier perform live and on Fox TV with two-time Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson as she headlines the Nextel Tribute to America at NASCARs Daytona 500.
Jill Pickering and Katie RapierWeve always been such fans of Kelly and her music, reports Pickering. To now get to sing with her is a dream come true.
Pickering and Rapier, both graduates of Gordon College (MA), first met the American Idol star backstage at one of the innumerable concerts they attended as they followed Clarksons career. A mutual friend passed on their CD to Clarkson who later surprised the duo by showing up at one of their performances in Los Angeles. With the tables turned and Kelly now visiting Pickering and Rapier in their dressing room, she shared how much she loved their vocal sound and asked if they would consider touring with her. Before thousands of fans at the racetrack and millions watching on television, Pickering and Rapier will share the stage for the first time with their idol this Sunday, moving into the fast lane in pursuit of their musical dream.

Kelly Clarkson talks with driver Martin Truex Jr. at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla., Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, the day before the NASCAR Daytona 500 auto race.

Jimmie Johnson, driver of the #48 Lowe's Chevrolet poses with singer Kelly Clarkson, before taking her for laps in a pace car during final practice for the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway on February 17, 2007 in Daytona, Florida.
Nextel Cup champion Jimmie Johnson drove Clarkson around the 2½-mile superspeedway at high speeds in a pace car. Clarkson had ridden in an actual race car at California Speedway, but said her trip around Daytona was much more intimidating because of the higher bankings.
I literally almost peed myself, said Clarkson, who will perform NASCARs Tribute to America before Sundays Daytona 500. It was scary. I didnt like today. Jimmie did a really good job driving it. I was just really scared. ... I almost got sick. I dont know how they do that over and over and over. I just felt like we were going to crash the whole time. I was probably making him nervous. I didnt scream or anything, so I wasnt that much of a wuss.

Clarkson got another shock when she learned Spears had a new hairdo.OK, are yall kidding? Somebody just told me that out there, and I think thats a joke, she said. She does not have a shaved head. Are you for real?
Yes.
Wow. Hey, Sinead OConnor. Right on. Shes bringing it back, Clarkson said. Shes Britney Spears. She can do whatever she wants. It will end up being cool. Somebody will start shaving their head; everybody will. I find that hard to believe until I see a picture.
She then stepped down from the Daytona media center stage to look at a picture posted on the Internet.

Well, shes still hot, Clarkson added. So whatever. If you can pull that off, go for it. I like my hair, so Im keeping it. ... Thats crazy.

Clarkson was one of two former American Idol stars on hand Saturday.Kellie Pickler sang two songs and performed the national anthem before the Busch Series race.
I saw that one too, and McPhee was a McPill in that one. I don't like that girl. As for Taylor, I don't know if the buzz is correct or not, only that it exists, and perception is reality for most folks. Unfortunately, if an artist's stuff doesn't get played on radio, he or she has a much harder time selling in big numbers. Taylor is doing a club tour this year. If he does well in those small venues, he might be able to move up to bigger venues. That's where he'll make his career.
Bleepin' Harvick!
LOL! I know exactly what you mean. Ugly, boring race until the mayhem at the end.
BTW, Jonny, thanks for all you do for us FR AI fans.
Typical dorky Kelly, trying to hide her shock, be nice, and say "no way for me" all at the same time. :)
Thank you!
I snagged it for you as soon as I saw it elsewhere. BTW, it's funnies day over on the Dose, mostly because I get tired of all the dreary news. Even the Admin Moderator got into the act. I mistyped today's date in the thread's title (8 instead of 2). Well life goes on for everyone but the stiff-necked among us. So a shout goes out from our resident stiff-neck to the Admin Moderator to fix the date for "record keeping" purposes. I posted to the AM that it was no biggie and not to bother if he or she had something better to do.
The AM came back with a perfect reply; absolutely my kind of humor. Changed the date from 8/18/07 to 7/18/07, then posted to me and said "I do have better things to do, I'm watching "Carnivores" on the History Channel. But I fixed your title anyway." ROFLMAO!!!
LOL--I saw that :-D Perfect response.
And I didn't see any more complaints about the date after that ;)
What a hilarious answer!!
My husband was rooting for Mark Martin, so he was annoyed, too. I really don't know much about NASCAR, but I do know that every race should end in a huge pile up that includes fire in some way.
Cease and desisr were the first words that came to mind to me, too. But, can they technically do that? Lots of people put things up on youtube. This is going to be interesting! :) I kind of hope others do the same.
LOL she's precious! I really like her! :)
It's the shiney bauble on the dog's neck that drew Paula's attention! ;)
Same here.
