Yeah, it's amazing how they went out of their way to give the top 24 brief air time in the early going this year. Also, looking at their pics, about half the girls are all the same physical type, like someone behind the scenes was looking for their fantasy honey or something.

Yeah, Simon, Randy and Paula gave the Auburn Hills resident and youth minister the boot on Tuesday night's "American Idol," but Rondo, 25, chalks it off as fate and "a cool experience."

Here's what else she had to say to The Detroit News on Wednesday afternoon during a phone chat:

On being eliminated: "I've known for awhile (Hollywood week took place in November). I feel like I've been living a lie. People would say, 'I hope you make it,' and all I could do was smile, because contractually, I couldn't say anything. I did the absolute best I could and gave 110 percent but in the end, I wasn't what they wanted."

Yeah, but, if its not a baby, its, 'my daddy's in jail', diabetes, deafness, now we have lupus thrown into the mix (I have a cousin with lupus), my daddy shot my mother, I missed the birth of my child due to auditions etc. Everyone tries for an angle and we don't know if the producers TELL them to play it up. The human interest angle. Or maybe to get us to dislike them. ?

Oh, I know! But America seems to give a pass (as far as weight=looks) to overweight black people vs. overweight white people ... mind you, I don't say this makes sense. Just what I've observed. I'm fine with being proven wrong, should that happen.

I'm not sure how long the winners are under the AI contract. But I hope Taylor will be able to go back to his old band, because they had a more soulful sound, they meshed well with Taylor.

Exactly. It's just sour grapes. If he was a raging jerk, as this blurb claims he is, it wouldn't have been kept quiet this long... I dont' believe it either. When he has been interviewed on the local radio stations, he is always gracious and the hosts go on for days about how nice he is. Even if Simon doesn't like him, you would think he would have better sense to promote him and not tear him down. That seems like it would hurt record sells.

Whitney Duncan got the ax on Nashville Star this week.

Should be interesting to see who gets booted off next week. Nobody was very good tonight. Zach Hacker and Josh Stevens were better than the others, but that's not saying much. David St. Romain tried a slow song, and it didn't work very well for him. Angela Hacker foolishly chose to sing a Shania Twain song which resulted in her worst performance so far.

Song choice was the downfall of many an AI contestant last season, and it may end up being the determining factor on NS.
