Do you watch, "The Soup" on E? They showed a scene from The View this week where Rosie was dancing with big rolls of paper towels and toilet paper. It was horrifying. If that's what is normally on The View, no wonder they need some controversy to boost them up!
Hi Netizen. No, I haven't and don't plan to. It's an exceedingly rare movie that will attract me to the theater anymore. Besides, there's something very strange in the way that thing was promoted since at least last summer as an Oscar contender. That was long before the film was even completed and in the can. Because I follow these things fairly closely, I remember Jennifer Hudson being pushed as a Best Support Oscar contender shortly after she got the part!
The movie was only released in 2006, the week between Christmas and New Year's Day, just in time to make the Oscar deadline. Yet, last September the powers behind this film were already touting it as a possible Best Picture nominee, with Best Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor and Actress nods.
Forgive me for being skeptical about the push for this movie, but even Hollywood's greatest films and stars used to have to wait until their picture was actually released before the Oscar buzz would start.
WOO HOO! Have fun and let us know how it was!
got the cd and like it....i'm a huge country fan but i do like Taylor's music....
ok, i now officially don't like you....people are still complaining here about him being in the Civic Center Theater instead of in the civic center itself....however, I understand Taylor prefers the small venues....when's the show? can't wait to hear what you think about it....
there are now so many success stories from AI....right now on the country top 40 there's a new one by carrie, josh gracin's latest, and the pickle's Red Highheels....carrie's song "Jesus Take the Wheel" was the #1 song of the year...and on GAC, out of the 26 weeks, Carrie's three songs held the #1 spot for a combined 23 of those weeks.
ok, i now officially don't like you....
LOL!!! Wait- you UNofficially didn't like me before?? ;-)
no before I officially liked you....now it's official, I don't!!! LMAO...I'm so envious you get to see Tay Tay and be a part of the Soul Patrol I'm turning green....Oh well, I got to see George Jones last month....does that count for something? :) and you're right....the trade off of a results show vs seeing Mr Hicks? No comparison....I'd rather see the results show any day.....NOT!
But my son TiVO'd both nights for me and I watched them both last night after we got home. Then this morning I got up and read the whole thread.
Two things:
1. The only guy who we saw make it to Hwood so far who is going to be able to keep his head on straight and not party in the hot tub all night the night before the "group of threes" is the "Open Arms" guy. And maybe the sweet Indian boy with the very bad hair.
2. I don't know how you do it s_j, but once again,
THIS THREAD ROCKS! Your opening riff on Mayberry was hilarious and the updates on last year's contestants was very well done. I was disappointed not to see Ace's scar, however, but I do hope it puts in a command performance this season.
Thanks again! And glad to see everyone back for more.
ST
George Jones counts! He's a living legend.
AND IT WAS A GREAT SHOW...even my brother, who is definitely NOT a country music fan, loved the show!
LOL..
Did you see the both of them on the Today Show?
Yikes! The both have Agents and state they are going to be MovieStars! Go Ewoks!
Don't forget to put me on your AI List!
Can't wait til tomorrow
Memphis!
Just as long as it's not Tony Stewart (shudder)
:)
Great post!
Thank you so much for the compliments.
LOL! Mowgli--that might stick :)
The Possum! :)
Ha!
I added you to the Idol list :)
I missed that guy ;)
