Man I missed it. I would have loved to see Taylor. I just love to watch him, he makes me happy. :) Fantasia, eh not so much. She only had one performance I liked that year and that was Summertime.

Rosie Takes on 'American Idol' Judges

On Thursday morning’s “The View,” Rosie O’Donnell dropped a bomb on “American Idol” and attacked America’s three favorite judges.

“If you keep serving people crap, they’re eventually going to think it’s a meal,” Rosie touted. “Three millionaires… one probably intoxicated. So sad.”

Rosie’s new war came the morning after an incredible 32 million people tuned in as Simon, Randy and Paula struggled in Seattle, taking aim at wannabes like Kenneth Briggs.

“You look like one of those creatures in the jungle with those massive eyes, what are they called? Bush baby,” Simon told the “Idol” hopeful.

“To make fun of someone’s physical appearance, is this what America thinks is entertainment?” Rosie challenged.

Only “Extra” had a backstage “View” pass with Thursday’s guest host, “Idol’s” season five sweetheart Kellie Pickler, who found herself caught in the “A.I.” crossfire.

Kellie came to the judges’ defense, insisting, “We all knew when we got in line for ‘American Idol’ there was a chance we could be embarrassed on national TV and humiliate ourselves; we knew that.”

Meanwhile, as Rosie ripped apart the “Idol” judges, you better believe that Donald Trump wanted in on the action too, and “Extra” has it!

“She shouldn’t be going after Simon, and she shouldn’t be going after anybody,” The Donald said. “Rosie is a mess.”

While Rosie targets the “Idol” judges, it seems Paula and Ryan are involved in a war of their own. On Ryan’s L.A. radio show, Paula attacked Ryan for not defending her behavior when he appeared on “The Tonight Show.”

“Look, I don’t look in their cups to see what’s sitting before them on that table,” Ryan told Jay Leno.

Paula attacked Ryan on the Los Angeles airwaves, as she inquired about his sit down with Leno.

“You know darn well there’s nothing in any of our Coca-Cola cups, and you know darn well I’ve never gone out drinking,” she snapped.

“I really feel like I try to keep the peace with you,” he then told Paula, who accepted his apology, saying, “I love you.”

But how long will the “Idol” love last?

Tune in to “American Idol” every week to find out!

ROFLMAO!!! The soap opera that is AI rolls on. Rosie is just jealous of the AI ratings. Trump is right -- she is a mess. But Trump is not exactly a paragon either. BTW, Bo Bice was in the audience at Nashville Star the other night. I wonder if he was practicing for when the camera catches glimpses of him during the AI top 10 shows a la Constantine, whose career is on life support these days. Bo was seen wildly cheering on some not-so-pretty blonde with a great, but raspy voice.

Rosie O'Donnell makes a fool of herself on national TV every single day.

At least the Idol wannabees only do it once in a lifetime.

Could be. He lives in Nashville now, so I'm not sure what he is working on at the moment. I always did like Bo, wish he could get his feet on the ground.

Amen, Pickler! This show has been on for almost 5 years now. It's changed very little since the beginning. But STILL there are people who are "shocked" and "outraged".

The people that are ridiculed by the judges generally have it coming, especially when they walk in puffed-up and arrogant like the Lemur--singing an NSYNC song! LOL

The Lemur jungle bug eyes comment by Simon is getting a lot of negative airplay. Some commentators feel that the judges went over the top by laughing behind the guy's back after he left. (It was kinda cruel....)

One of the clips that CNN played was Taylor singing Jailhouse Rock. Man did he rock! Wish he'd do a complete CD of Elvis songs.

laughing behind the guy's back after he left.

That's nothing new. When someone with no talent, but plenty of attitude auditions they should expect to be laughed at.

The Lemur's friend, Jonathan didn't have any talent either, but he was nice to the judges and the judges treated him well.

SmileyCentral.com Mky favorite thing was showing the singers doing the song "Dontcha" That was funny, period. And they had to come back on to sing that after they had been told no, because that was not the song they auditioned with!! And that made it all the more funny. :)

Check out the moral hand-wringing on these threads. The country is going to hell because Idol is so popular!

All the hand-wringers are just jealous because the show IS so popular. In addition, all those whiny, oh-so-self-important columnists, TV talking heads, and others who bask in the show's limelight by criticising it are merely trying to make a peripheral buck off it. Oh, and that also includes washed-up lesbo jerks like Rosie. I don't like Donald Trump, but he is right about her. Ugh!

Compared to a lot of what's out there, AI is harmless fun, and the contestants know what they are getting into when they line up by the tens of thousands to audition. Oooooo...it's so meeean. Yeah, right! I'd wager that what those contestants experience for a few minutes in front of Simon, Randy and Paula is puff pastry compared to what they experienced in school.

Kelly Clarkson Partners With NASCAR
Jan 18, 8:32 PM EST
The Associated Press

LOS ANGELES -- Kelly Clarkson will soon be showing her racing stripes in the biggest partnership NASCAR has ever made with a music artist, the sports franchise announced Thursday.

"Anyone who knows me knows I'm a race fan and love NASCAR," the former "American Idol" and Grammy-winning singer said in a NASCAR press release. "I look forward to hanging out with the fans, drivers and the entire NASCAR community."

Clarkson will be "integrated into all aspects of NASCAR," including television spots, charitable events and NASCAR's awards dinner in New York City in December, NASCAR said.

The deal kicks off with Clarkson headlining the Nextel "Tribute To America" concert airing live on Fox just before the Daytona 500 in Florida on Feb. 18.

During the appearance, Clarkson will film a 30-second NASCAR spot for TV featuring a new song from her upcoming third album.

She will also serve as a spokeswoman for the fourth annual NASCAR Day on May 18, 2007.

Other artists who have partnered with NASCAR include the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sheryl Crow, Jewel, Lenny Kravitz and LeAnn Rimes.

Clarkson's "enthusiasm for NASCAR as a fan of NASCAR will surely develop into an unparalleled relationship," said NASCAR's Sarah Nettinga in a statement.

The 24-year-old singer rose to pop-rock stardom after snagging the first "American Idol" crown in 2002.

Her debut album, "Thankful," earned double-platinum status, and the multiplatinum follow-up, "Breakaway," garnered two Grammy awards in 2006.

Holy crap. Pickler said something smart. Good for her! She's right, too. It's not like the show took a turn for the mean all of a sudden. Am I the only one who remembers the women Simon told, "Well, you have a nice voice, but you're way too fat" in more colorful terms?

Exactly. Did anyone else catch Taylor on Larry King the other night? He was asked his opinion of Simon. He said (very diplomatically, IMO) that Simon is preparation for what the music industry is really like. It can be nasty and mean and the industry people don't care if they hurt your feelings.

Rosie just gets off seeing her name in the headlines.

Jonny, here's a bit more on the NASCAR-Kelly Clarkson deal. It's apparently huge. That smart young woman is well on her way to becoming extremely wealthy. She only 24, but has done some very, very smart things with her career so far. This will introduce her to a whole new fan base. On some of the fan boards, there are already kids fantasizing about her hooking up with Dale Jr., LOL!

In a very savvy move, they are going to introduce one of the songs off her next album during the Daytona festivities.

NASCAR and Kelly Clarkson Announce Unprecedented Partnership Landmark Deal

In a landmark collaboration bringing together two touchstones of American culture, superstar singer Kelly Clarkson has partnered with NASCAR for the 2007 season.

With the deal, the largest and most comprehensive NASCAR has ever forged with an artist, the multi-platinum, Grammy-winning Clarkson will be integrated into all aspects of NASCAR, including an at-track concert, TV spot, charitable endeavors and the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Awards Ceremony.

The relationship will kick off on Sunday, Feb. 18 prior to the Daytona 500, where Clarkson will headline the Nextel Tribute To America live on FOX. The event salutes music as the fabric of America and will feature thousands of cast members on the Daytona International Speedway’s historic five-acre tri-oval area.

“NASCAR’s relationship with Kelly Clarkson will be unique not only due to the depth of her involvement in the sport all season long, but her enthusiasm for NASCAR as a fan of NASCAR will surely develop into an unparalleled relationship," said Sarah Nettinga, managing director, film, television and entertainment, NASCAR Digital Entertainment.

“We’re delighted to have one of the most popular singers in the world entertain the race fans in attendance as well as the live television audience on FOX,” Daytona International Speedway President Robin Braig said. “NASCAR’s most prestigious event will get off to a roaring start with this unforgettable pre-race show that’s fitting for the biggest, richest and most-watched motorsports event in America.”
