I wonder how long it took the teacher to locate a phone. It appears these are Amish, Menonites. Amish do typically have phones.

He entered the School showing a pistol and shotgun - it wasn't until 45 minutes later that he released the boys and some of the teachers - at that time the teacher was able to use a neighbors phone to call police - remember, this is an Amish school, they don't have cell phones, etc.

Read the story. They were all little girls and there was 1 teachers aide. The teacher's aide was most likely an older/former student helping out. What would you have the children do? Wrestle a semi-automatic weapon from the guy?
