How would you feel if, in the aftermath of 9/11, the U.S. government had decided to contract out airport security to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the country where most of the operational planning and financing of the attacks occurred? My guess is you, like most Americans, would think it a lunatic idea, one that could clear the way for still more terror in this country. You probably would want to know who on earth approved such a plan -- and be determined to prevent it from happening.

I'll take that as admission that you have no facts to support your position.

al-Qaeda can hire personnel working in American seaports today. What is so magical about the same company now being owned by a UAE-based company that changes this?

Yes, but the bolded part of Stellar Dendrite's post from al-Qaeda's manual was addressing seaport personnel...

BTW, how come Stellar Dendrite had al-Qaeda's operations manual so readily to hand? Could he be one of them?

Except for Israel there's no one in the Middle East I would trust to be anywhere near American ports or other sensitive installations, especialy after 9/11. It's a no-brainer that only this administration is incapable of getting despite the clear intentions of these nations.

I guess the utter hypocrisy of there being no outrage over the part-Saudi, Brit and American owned Fox News, but complete nut-job outrage over this port deal between a Dubai company along with a Danish partner to buy a British company that works in the U.S. will go unnoticed?

And what about Michelle Malkin. She always has her mug on the part saudi owned Fox News.

Yes he did, something like 700 in 1999 were prosecuted if I'm not mistaken. Except for the California area he was terrible on border issues but still has Bush beat by a longshot.

To summarize, the UAE, a FOREIGN GOVERNMENT, will be responsible for hiring security for OUR cargo operations in OUR ports.

Port Security

Port security grants are just one of many steps the Department is taking to address potential vulnerabilities in our Nation’s ports and waterways.

Yeah, that's why I'm opposed to the letting the UAE do this deal and pointing out their links to terrorism all over this forum. This is the dumbest statement I've ever seen on Free Republic!!!

Here you go folks. Wanna see a real Kool Aid drinker? BeholdAPaleHorse just got the award of the day!!!!!!!!

I just thought you might need a little help with an example of what a FACT is. Now you have an example to show you how one goes about making a point instead of slinging opinion.

HUNTER REACTS TO PRESIDENT’S VETO
OF BORDER PATROL FUNDING BILL

Washington, D.C.  – Congressman Duncan Hunter (CA-52) responded today to President Clinton’s veto of the Commerce, Justice, State (CJS) Appropriations bill which provides funding for the Immigration & Naturalization Service, the U.S. Border Patrol and numerous border enforcement projects.  President Clinton complained that the bill, H.R. 2670, failed to allow the U.S. Justice Department to sue the tobacco industry and had additional concerns with provisions regarding the United Nations.

“President Clinton’s veto of this important spending bill denies our border enforcement agencies the critical resources needed to protect our borders,” said Hunter.  “Despite overwhelming evidence that illegal immigration and drug smuggling continue to increase, this administration did not provide one single Border Patrol agent in their budget request and have now refused to fund the agents Congress did provide.”

In accordance with Congressman Hunter’s 1996 legislation, which authorized 5,000 new Border Patrol agents over five years, the vetoed CJS spending bill provided funding for 1,000 additional agents which were to be deployed along the Southwest border in areas of the highest illegal traffic, including San Diego and Imperial Counties.  The bill also provided priority to the El Centro Border Patrol Sector and continued site planning and construction of a new border station at Campo.

Are you suggesting that the UAE is not going to be hiring U.S. Customs agents and Homeland Security personnel?

You folks are taking my breath away with the utter nonsense you are spouting on this thread.
