How would you feel if, in the aftermath of 9/11, the U.S. government had decided to contract out airport security to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the country where most of the operational planning and financing of the attacks occurred? My guess is you, like most Americans, would think it a lunatic idea, one that could clear the way for still more terror in this country. You probably would want to know who on earth approved such a plan -- and be determined to prevent it from happening.

If President Bush approves this, he needs to be impeached and removed from Office immediately for Non-feasance. I never thought I would agree with Hillary, but on this I agree 100%.
Any President who would allow the TROJAN HORSE to enter our ports must be mad EX-President immediately. It is Congress' job to step up to the plate and do their jobs if President Bush refuses to do his.

Your post is WORTH REPEATING TO THE DEAF, DUMB AND BLIND on this thread.

In either event, you do NOT want foreigners controlling our ports. What the heck is with BUSH? Where was your outrage when P&O(a foreign firm) was operating from US ports.
BTW, DPWorld is not "controlling" the ports.

If that is true, then why do you feel you have a valid opinion one way or the other? The facts are out there for you to read, you dont have to listen to any of us. It is easy to say the facts are out there to back up your assertions that this deal is safe. Furthermore, I am opposed to the whole deal simply because UAE would gain money at American taxpayer expense. I would gladly pay 10 dollars a gallon or its equivalent, rather than have my money benefit OPEC.

"Brits are not foreigners?"
Last I heard they were not U.S. citizens. Has that changed? Haven't there also been times when their interests are NOT the same as ours? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Does anyone remember AQ Khan?
Here is some interesting information regarding Khan and the UAE (Itzy, if you wanna ping the whole gang feel free..hat tip to sangrila for this info)
http://cns.miis.edu/pubs/npr/vol06/64/db64.pdf
"On 25 May 1999, UAE Minister for Information
and Culture Shaykh Abdullah Bin
Zayid Al Nuhayyan met with Pakistani
nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Kahn at A.
Q. Khan Research Laboratories in
Rawalpindi. Zaiyid was interested in obtaining
Pakistani help in the nuclear field. Khan
replied: Pakistan would not present the
atomic bomb or a missile on a platter but
could train UAE manpower.
Pakistan (Islamabad), 26 May 1999,
"The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister
of Information and Culture Shaykh
Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, during his
visit to Pakistan in May, stated that Pakistan
could contribute to the Middle East peace
process through their nuclear capabilities.
Islamabads nuclear capabilities can serve
as a catalyst and Pakistan can play a key role
in putting tremendous pressure on Israel."

So the fact that the Brits are currently working in these ports as 'operators' and will do so after they are purchased by the Dubai company changes what?
Please answer.

Try again. If you think prosecuting only three employers last year when there's millions of illegals in the country, many of whom came in under this administration's watch is not incompetence or worse then it's you who needs to keep trying. Your attempted defense of the indefensible isn't working.
To: Pukin Dog
"Facts" proving incompetent, indifferent, "open-door" national security at the Mexican border are a dime a dozen, as well as noted in hundreds of towns and cities across America since 9/11.
Dwell in your own delusional bubble if it suits you.
To: Dane
I guess the utter hypocrisy of there being no outrage over the part-Saudi, Brit and American owned Fox News, but complete nut-job outrage over this port deal between a Dubai company along with a Danish partner to buy a British company that works in the U.S. will go unnoticed?

Whoops, looks like I cut off the end of the text in paragraph two of #134...I put the extra text in BOLD:
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of Information and Culture Shaykh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, during his visit to Pakistan in May, stated that Pakistan could contribute to the Middle East peace process through their nuclear capabilities. Islamabads nuclear capabilities can serve as a catalyst and Pakistan can play a key role in putting tremendous pressure on Israel to vacate the occupied territories and restore the rights of Palestinians.
