SAFETY HARBOR, Florida (AP) -- Terri Schiavo's former husband has married his longtime girlfriend, friends and family members say.
Michael Schiavo and his longtime girlfriend, Jodi Centonze, were wed Saturday at a church in Florida. The bride's brother says it was a very emotional ceremony.
Schiavo's former wife, Terri, had suffered severe brain damage more than a decade ago and died last March after her feeding tube was removed.
Michael Schiavo had argued his wife was in a vegetative state, and would not want to be kept alive artificially.
...snip.....
The newlyweds first met in a dentist's office and began a relationship after Terri Schiavo was already in a nursing home. They have two young children.

Looks like that ping list is over at Clown Posse.
Thing is Terri had a brain, it was just damamged, not dead. And who are we to say what God would want or not, so why play HIM? I think the wise thing to do is not dehydrate a person who is brain damaged simply because WE think it is better off that they pass away. It is Euthanasia no matter how you look at it. You seem to be of the opinion that a damaged brain is no brain at all. Well I disagree. My nephew has a terminal illness and I see his life worth living damaged or not. It is a shame when people like you think that lives that are damaged should be destroyed or put down. God help you and those who believe this awful lie. It is not compassionate to dehydrate someone who isn't dying, it is murder!
I don't know how long Lynch has been the bishop there, but I think he did come from elsewhere in Florida, maybe Miami or Palm Beach area, but I'm not sure which. That's what I'm remembering anyway. I also think that he has some skeletons in his closet, but that could just be rumor.
The diocese there may be united with Rome, but I assure you that Lynch has not always come out on the same side as the Vatican. Terri's case is the biggest blemish for Lynch. I think he may have been reprimanded by the Vatican at some point during her ordeal.
I don't know if it's weird coincidence (probably is), but I just realized a few moments ago that Michael and Jodi are spending their first full wedded day together on the national day celebrating the Sanctity of Life. Hopefully, that will portend good things for them and not just be irony.
Well, he sure didn't waste any time, did he?
No, you're right, I wasn't. I was trying to follow the chronology of the miserable business. I saw a lot of deleted posts, can remember hopes and musings, but nothing overt or specific.
Geez, try to be original.
You are becoming the "Crazy Cat Lady" of FR. Reading you is only good for a laugh lately.
Don't you think they played God by putting her on the life support in the first place?
We've had many successes in saving people from being exterminated. I guess you just haven't been paying attention. If you really want to stop us from saving lives, I suggest you monitor Terri's daily threads to see what we've been up to.
Why does this corrupt judge continue to sit on the bench? He should be in prison.
Giving someone food is life support? Man, I hope that if I ever fell unconsious for a period of time that people would feed me so I wouldn't die of starvation.
God made man and man made the capability to feed someone who is unable to feed themselves. I think we are to care for one another and the compassionte way to do that is by taking care of them, not putting them down like dogs and letting them dehydrate to death.
As if you'd ever like any of my posts.
I think you're asking a bit much. It is simply not possible to use facts to support Michael's actions.
Are we supposed to figure from your comment that emergency room doctors and nurses are playing God? Why leave it at that? All doctors must be playing God! I guess even fire fighters and police officers play God, too. Hey, you might be on to something...maybe we're all playing God in our own way! You have just opened my eyes! </sarc >
I don't wish them anything because I'm numb.
You stood up for what you believed in. I don't consider that obsessive. I don't think about this much any more unless something relevant comes up in the news.
There was a movie on tv the other night that reminded me of this case; I think it was deliberate. Can't remember the network or name of it. It was a smear on pro-lifers, making them out to be crazies and bombers. I saw enough and turned it off.
I also saw something about abortion on tv. After the doctor had inserted the laminaria, the patient quoted one of the scriptures about prelife, formed in your mother's womb, not sure of the exact one. The doctor shot back with another scripture. She said, "You're a Christian, aren't you?" He nodded yes.
And once again your hatred of Christians rears its ugly head.
No, everyone bandies about the the whole "playing God" cliche, if we take it back far enough, then any medical interference or even taking medicine is playing God.
Its usually a fallacious argument, but most people don't get it, because it cuts both ways.
I'm not really cutting them any slack, I am just trying really hard to be polite about them on a public forum. I have had all the ill will towards Michael that I need. I think he is the one who will always have to deal with what he did to her. My conscience in regards to Terri is clear. I will never forget her and the many lessons I learned while following her struggle.
The abortion thing on TV...talk about irony! I often wonder how these people live with themselves...but then I remember that I somehow manage to live with myself despite my flaws. Lord, help us all!
Invoking the name of Christ; while your posts bear false witness aginst Michael and his faimly, other FReepers, the judge, the legislature, the courts, the governor, the doctors and anyone else who doesn't agree with you.
You are falsely accusing me of making false allegations. Are you intelligent enough to see the irony in that?
