I don't know how long Lynch has been the bishop there, but I think he did come from elsewhere in Florida, maybe Miami or Palm Beach area, but I'm not sure which. That's what I'm remembering anyway. I also think that he has some skeletons in his closet, but that could just be rumor.
The diocese there may be united with Rome, but I assure you that Lynch has not always come out on the same side as the Vatican. Terri's case is the biggest blemish for Lynch. I think he may have been reprimanded by the Vatican at some point during her ordeal.
I don't know if it's weird coincidence (probably is), but I just realized a few moments ago that Michael and Jodi are spending their first full wedded day together on the national day celebrating the Sanctity of Life. Hopefully, that will portend good things for them and not just be irony.
I don't wish them anything because I'm numb.
You stood up for what you believed in. I don't consider that obsessive. I don't think about this much any more unless something relevant comes up in the news.
There was a movie on tv the other night that reminded me of this case; I think it was deliberate. Can't remember the network or name of it. It was a smear on pro-lifers, making them out to be crazies and bombers. I saw enough and turned it off.
I also saw something about abortion on tv. After the doctor had inserted the laminaria, the patient quoted one of the scriptures about prelife, formed in your mother's womb, not sure of the exact one. The doctor shot back with another scripture. She said, "You're a Christian, aren't you?" He nodded yes.
