RGVTx, this is the picture that I remember that was shown as the fisherman's huts where Natalee was supposedly "dropped on the beach".

LucyT, I hadn't seen the picture you posted of the Hadikurari fisherman's huts before.

Those were great finds, both of you. I looked for quite a while and didn't find any pictures.

I've been looking at a map of Aruba which shows a beach area called Hadicurari to the north quite a ways from the last of the high-rise hotels, which I think the last one to the north is the Marriott, #5 in the Palm Beach area.

I think these are 2 different groups of huts.

Unfortunately, this map is wide.

Does Arlene ever get dizzy from the spin?

If there are 2 different areas with fisherman's huts, Arlene must know that, and that the huts have different construction.

She must know the huts near the Marriott, which are the ones in question regarding the stolen fish trap, have sides, roofs and doors.

Since she has such an 'in' with the police and the prosecution, she must also know that the fishermen reported the stolen items to the police that same morning that they were discovered missing, even if the police later claim there were no reports.

So, her giving out her lies as the supposed 'Aruba truth' must benefit her employers the Strategic Communications Task Force in some way, if we just follow the money. The conclusion I draw is Arlene and the SCTF do not want Natalee's body found. If Aruba thinks there has been a media circus before, just wait until a fish trap is hauled up with a body inside. Aruba will explode with the publicity. Everyone's stomach will be turned, even the most hard-core tourists.

Somehow, she must think her disinformation can deflect Tim Miller and TES away from the deep water off the area of the fishermen's huts and the launch ramp.

That big metal fish trap weighted down with rocks is not going to float away, either. I found the things said on "The Lineup" by Arlene and the anchorwoman about the fish trap being a fish 'net', and being bouyed up with floats so it could float away, and that it was not possible to put a body in it, as being very strange things to say.

Yes, I'm sure the 'k' and the 'c' are interchangeable in Papiamentu because I have worked with the web translator and dictionaries and seen that a lot. So I think the Haricurari on the map and the Hadikurari of the picture are the same.

I found this description of Hadikurari Beach:

"Hadikurari Beach is located just south of the lighthouse near the northwestern tip of Aruba and is known for terrific snorkeling."

And this:

"Hadikurari Beach, directly south of Malmok, is also called Fisherman’s Huts, and is well-known for terrific windsurfing."

The fisherman's huts with the doors are very close to the Marriott Hotel.

Apparently "Fisherman's Huts" is the name of a beach by the Marriott. It is popular with windsurfers. The water is calm, and waist-deep. It is also called Hadikurari.

so I did a search and found that "Fishermans Huts" can mean almost anything, esp as regards this case! I scanned a bit on earlier threads, but couldn't find the pics of the huts from back then, before the arubs decided to lose as many rabbits as they can:

Aruba police search sand dunes for missing Alabama teen

Associated Press ORANJESTAD, Aruba - Police searched sand dunes on the northwest coast of Aruba for Natalee Holloway, the Alabama teen who vanished on this Dutch Caribbean island seven months ago, police said Tuesday.

More than 50 police officers began searching a one-square-mile area on Monday, said Gerold Dompig, Aruba's chief of police. But the search was suspended Tuesday because the force could not continue to devote so many officers to the undertaking.

"We can't pull 55 people from the Aruba police force since the island only has about 250 police," Dompig said. "We do need that many people to do the search."

The zone being searched is roughly the size of eightsoccer fields, or one square mile, Dompig said, adding that almost half the area was searched on Monday.

Authorities might resume the search as early as Thursday, police said. They intended to search the area one more time after that.

Holloway, of Mountain Brook, Ala., was an 18-year-old high school senior on a graduation trip to Aruba when she disappeared. She was last seen on May 30 leaving a bar with three young men - Dutch national Joran van der Sloot and Surinamese brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe.
They were arrested in June and later released.

Police have considered the sand dunes a place of interest since the investigation began and have searched them before, Dompig said.

Authorities said they ordered the new search as part of an ongoing review of the initial investigation.
