Surinamese Deepak Kalpoe, 21, arrives to court in Oranjestad, Aruba, Friday, Aug. 26, 2005. Aruban police arrested Kalpoe and his brother Satish, 18, along with a third person according to government spokesman Ruben Trapenberg, saying he doesn't know if the arrests are connected to the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Surinamese Satish Kalpoe, 18, front, gets in a car to go to court in Oranjestad, Aruba, Friday, Aug. 26, 2005. Two Surinamese brothers, Satish and Deepak Kalpoe, who had been detained and released in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway were arrested again Friday based on new evidence, officials said. The brothers were detained on suspicion of involvement, with unidentified 'other people,' in premeditated murder and rape, the prosecutor's office said. Person to the right is unidentified. ARe you thinking he's in the States? I still think he's covert something or 'nother....
Bump
Holy Crap, who is Dr. Phil 'rescuing' from Mexico?
*cracking up at how irate NG seems to be*
Mammana said it better than I did about Aruba preventing a boycott..."Maybe Aruba should take care of this injustice." Exactly!
Mammana says he expects a boycott to commence within 10 days. "Going to take a big bite of the apple and a deep bite." "Aruba won't be able to get a bar of soap on the island..." He's talking more than tourism boycott. He's planning to hit their wallets every way possible.
Also says he gets lots of emails and such from people all over the world that are angry. Warns that the three suspects had better watch their backs. They've angered many more people than the Twittys and Holloways.
When asked if she's supports a boycott starting soon
Beth says they've made their demands very clear to Aruba. Aruba will decide by their response what will be. If that's what it takes(boycott), then so be it.
I saw Dr Phil somewhere in the last day or so and I think he was using the Mexico story as an example of cases of sex trade. He talked of a young girl living in Mexico with her missionary parents. She was kidnapped, turned into a junkie and prostitued. When she was found, she didn't want to go with her parents and leave her new life. In one year she had become brainwashed and dependent upon her captors. Very sad story. It left me wondering what the current status is of this case. Are the parents still trying to get her back or have they abandoned all hope? They should be planning to kidnap her back, then detox and rehab her. Maybe they are and are keeping it quiet, as they should.
To clarify my earlier point about Hugo Chavez, I don't think that Venezuelan agents kidnapped Natalee. I just think that someone or some people on Aruba who may be sympathetic to Hugo Chavez and to the repatriation of the A-B-C islands to Venezuela saw the opportunity and took it.
Chavez is a nationalist and anti-imperialist. Having three Dutch protectorates sitting so close to his coast makes him look bad.
Forgive my tinfoilness but my hypothesis is that when the imperialist American money dries up in will step Uncle Hugo with his petrodollars and rescue the starving, out of work Arubans. He'll even drive the imperialistic Europeans from "Venezuelan" beaches and from the decadent casinos much like Castro did in Havana in 1959.
Just a thought.
TAW
if that rumor is true, the "new" witness that Dave has referred to just MIGHT be him. Croes is certainly an enigma.
I don't necessarily think Croes has left aruba, the statement of some witness "living" in the states (seems to imply not an American, by omission) just made me think of him.
Your post made me think of a good slogan:
Justice for Natalee is Justice for Aruba.
Surely there are many other incidences of miscarriages of justice among the Aruban nationals. They are still looked down upon by the colonial Dutch. When are they going to realize that their justice system- as it is-is letting all of them down?
In my Sunday paper travel section, for three weeks in a row, the prices for trips to Aruba have been slashed in half. I guess no one is buying.
Pity!
Interesting timing though that Satish is saying he's sorry and distancing himself from his brother and Joran.
No such thing as coincidences.
Tapes coming back may have something to do with it.
Drowing in sweat.

Dave didn't say the nervous witness he wants questioned is in the US. I believe he meant someone on Aruba. That leaves Charles Croes as a possibility.
The comment about wanting to interview some witnesses in the US came from ALE. They want to interview the students.
Justice for Natalee is Justice for Aruba.
------
Such a simple concept. Will Arubans ever grasp this fact?
Satish distancing himself from the other two is nothing new. Satish has been doing this since nearly the beginning.
We've basically seen and heard nothing from Satish until now. And this is only through his attorney.
His apology for lying is really saying he's sorry he got caught lying. Ya know, everybody lies, even big people...according to Mama K.
What baffles me is why did the attorney even bother to speak about this. We've all known for months he lied. What good does his apology really do? I don't see that it actually helps him. It doesn't change the fact that he lied.
His claims of having told the truth ever since doesn't explain his first lie. If his second story is true then there was no need to tell the first lie. His attorney seemed to miss this line of thought. He just mumbled when Greta asked him why lie in the first place if the second story is true.
Check your mail.
