Surinamese Deepak Kalpoe, 21, arrives to court in Oranjestad, Aruba, Friday, Aug. 26, 2005. Aruban police arrested Kalpoe and his brother Satish, 18, along with a third person according to government spokesman Ruben Trapenberg, saying he doesn't know if the arrests are connected to the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. "Aruban prosecutor answers question sent to her by Greta."
It didn't happen. Arlene Schippersloot described Jansens replies in HER own words.......it was NOT a translation of Jansens answers!
Par for the course.
I started this post once and it just flashed off the screen. It might show up uncompleted...who knows!
This is a quick summary.
On Greta, Arlene Schippers translating prosecutor's(KJannsen) answers to written questions submitted by Greta and company:
Current state of case?
No reduction in investigation efforts. Added a few more investigators to team.
Seen, heard, or requested Deepak tapes?
Had to insist and requested a lot to get tapes.
Tapes are being reviewed and authenticated.
Rearrest possible soon?
Can't say.
US criticizism of ALE?
KJ doesn't want to say. US Bar Assoc. did a good job explaining the difference in US and Aruban law.
Any way in Aruban law to plea bargain or some version of plea bargain?
No. There is a thing called Crown Witness...complicated and used for cases like terrorism, but not likely to be used in this case.

Dompig on Greta:
Wants to talk with Natalee's friends that were on the trip in Aruba.
FBI took some statements, but need more answers.
Can't say exactly what questions need to be answered by MB students.
More details of days in Aruba.
Who did Natalee talk with in Aruba and where all did she go?
Some kids didn't want to talk at first...some secrecy by MB students. Some inconsistant statements by MB kids. Some things not remembered should be easily remembered.
Will send someone to US to talk with MB kids.
Also kids can phone or email ALE.
Possible to find remains after this time?
Yes. If in ocean probably weighted down, if so, should find something.
I agree. It did sound more like Arlene's answers, but then, I'm sure Arlene and Jannsen would give the same answers.
That was my opinion of it too. Arlene just gave out more of her dutch BS about how hard the Prosecutor has worked etc. etc. It was much to do about nuttin!!
Would not be at all surprised if that was the deal made by the VDS in the beginning once Beth found them. Since there was no way to avoid the fickle finger of fate pointing to them as the breadcrumbs led to the VDS front door, I would not be shocked that in those 10 days of them cleaning up things and disposing of anything incriminating, they made a deal with ALE that when this all blew over there would be money and exoneration in it for them, not to mention the old job back and renewed in January, etc. Bet it will be a nice $ settlement too!
In my local paper today is a story about local high school grads that had signed with a travel agency, Cancun Specialty, to take a graduation trip to Cancun. They paid their money, then a short time before their scheduled trip the travel agent sent them a letter saying the trip was canceled due to events in Aruba. The agent has now skipped town and no refunds.
I guess the timing of events in Aruba worked out well for this travel agent/scam artist.
This is a partial transcript from "On the Record,"
October 25, 2005, that has been edited for clarity.
Can the State Department Find Natalee?
Snip... GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, HOST: The United States government is very interested in the desperate search for Natalee Holloway (search). Earlier this week, Natalee's mother met with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice (search) to discuss the investigation. Beth Holloway Twitty joins us live from Columbus, Ohio.
Welcome, Beth.
BETH HOLLOWAY TWITTY, MOTHER OF NATALEE HOLLOWAY: Hi, Greta.
VAN SUSTEREN: Beth, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, how did you happen to meet with her?
TWITTY: Well she was already going to be in the Birmingham area. She had brought in former secretary Jack Straw (search) and Ambassador David Manning and his wife, so we just thought it would be good timing and just arranged a meeting with her for Sunday.
VAN SUSTEREN: And how long did you meet with her?
TWITTY: Oh, you know, it was probably less than 30 minutes. And then after that, I was allowed to ride in the motorcade and I went to Westminster Presbyterian Church where she had attended when she was a young child, and her father was a preacher there. So it was just a privilege and an honor for me to be able to do that, Greta.
Snip... VAN SUSTEREN: When the meeting was over, was it the sort of the situation where she says, "Look, I want to help you and I know I can, or was it I want to help you, I'm not sure I know what I can do?" I mean, how would you characterize the end of it.
TWITTY: How would I characterize the end of it is, you know, she is the most powerful woman in the world and I do feel that she will be able to help, Greta. Absolutely.
VAN SUSTEREN: Was she able to provide any specifics about what she can do or what she might do, or what she's thinking about doing?
TWITTY: Well, I really don't want to, you know, discuss that. I'd really rather have her, you know, answer that question. But I think we have all known from the beginning that, as far as FBI involvement, you know, it was just a formality we went through early on to invite them in.
The Dutch government never allowed the FBI to play ball with them. They held them at an arm's length the entire time. And, you know, it would be nice if they could get in and get access to some of the documents, some of that raw data, the leads that were coming early on, to see how they were handled, how they were followed. I mean, I think there were so many answers in the beginning and just were either not gathered or lost, Greta.
Snip... TWITTY: You know, I'm thinking what Dompig said on the Dan Abrams' show that Paul van der Sloot is a person of interest and, not only in the disappearance of Natalee, but and after the fact. You know, how -- it's just amazing. And then I think of Deepak Kalpoe that gives a detailed role -- gives Paul van der Sloot's role in Natalee's disappearance, and I think of how he has allow Joran to, you know, remain seated with him at a casino table, you know, from the VIP car that Carlo's and Charley's, whoever the owner of that is. You know, it's just amazing, amazing the connections that this man has had, Paul van der Sloot, and able to just live lawlessly on the island.
VAN SUSTEREN: Would you like to talk to him again? And I don't mean the weeks that I was there when you sat down with him?
TWITTY: Greta, I would love to, and I'd love for you to be there with me.
VAN SUSTEREN: Maybe we will get the chance and we'll do that.

Go Condi!!
Things are looking up for Beth Twitty.
I think the Arubans will make a few more efforts to find Natalee's body, and if they don't, I think they will go ahead with kidnapping and rape charges anyway.
I've noticed these transcripts are often not complete. In the one you posted from Rita's show with Dr Nute the transcript omits the very first of that interveiw where Dr Nute says they are searching the waters near the lighthouse.
Sunmoonstars at SM does a better transcript job than the media. Thanks for posting it, Shebacal, just wish the media would do a better job transcribing their own shows.
It makes me sick!!
They had better frickin do something. Either that or Aruba can just keep losing the American dollar. I would LOVE to see a National boycott. I doubt the Government will call for one but a few sentences from Ms. Rice could go a long way in causing folks to book their trips elsewhere.
better to lose their money than their lives
Hey, did you see where the Houston Astros were slooted by the Chicago White Sox in the World Series?
better to lose their money than their lives

Yes, the scammer probably did them a favor in the long run.
We could send Palladin if all else fails.
Wasn't Palladin a bounty hunter?
Have Gun Will Travel?
Or is my memory failing me?
"slooted"...LOL!
Good one!
That's right. He was a bounty hunter on TV in the fifties.
Paladin (one L) was played by the actor Richard Boone.
