Surinamese Deepak Kalpoe, 21, arrives to court in Oranjestad, Aruba, Friday, Aug. 26, 2005. Aruban police arrested Kalpoe and his brother Satish, 18, along with a third person according to government spokesman Ruben Trapenberg, saying he doesn't know if the arrests are connected to the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Surinamese Satish Kalpoe, 18, front, gets in a car to go to court in Oranjestad, Aruba, Friday, Aug. 26, 2005. Two Surinamese brothers, Satish and Deepak Kalpoe, who had been detained and released in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway were arrested again Friday based on new evidence, officials said. The brothers were detained on suspicion of involvement, with unidentified 'other people,' in premeditated murder and rape, the prosecutor's office said. Person to the right is unidentified. What does this mean?
This is what bothers me "
VAN DER SLOOT: No, I don`t know. That`s not -- that`s absolutely not what it is about. I don`t know. When her parents showed up at my door with her picture, I didn`t even know who Natalee Holloway was. I didn`t even know her name."
So...she begged him to dance, to take her home, to whatever, but he didn't know her when he saw her picture?
I also think the powers that be, ALL OF THEM, are dirty!!
2395 - Shebacal I can hardly contain myself from shouting BULLCHIT!!!!! Open and honest my A$$!! This Island deserves to be sunk into the sea.
This latest little "dive" effort is supposed to impress WHOM??? P A T H E T I C!!!!!!
I wish every travel Agent in America would do that also. As Mark Furhman said, there are plenty of strips of white sand in the world other than Aruba. These Agents would simply have to RE-direct folks to a much more SUITABLE VACATION AREA. For God's sake, this island of mega cockroaches has spit in every American citizens eye. So Beth's beautiful murdered daughter is a bitch huh? I think NOT!! The police don't need their frosted flakes - they ARE FLAKES!!
I agree, I doubt Arubans have been singled out for bad treatment. Sounds like another load of Aruban C of C garbage. I hope this Island is in a tailspin.
They talk like complete idiots. They also run their Law Enforcement like complete idiots. I suppose it's supposed to mean that one hasn't had access to the documents. What good would that do anyway? - they change and alter them to say whatever they want them to say. I am completely flabbergasted by this information from Jug and Beth. I don't know why they stayed silent so long.
I honestly believe that if we don't get a grip here in the Homeland we can have every reason to expect our own backyard to become as messy.
I don't like to point at New Orleans, but it's been said that their Police are among the most corrupt in the nation. Not that it has anything to do with their being Katrina victims.
But I want you all to know that I was approached at the bank last Friday by one of NO's own - so he said - asking me to help cash a $15,000 check! Hey, I ain't THAT cute!
I'm not really off topic here. I'm not forgetting the America that Natalee would want to have. I'm not EVER forgetting it. 'LET'S ROLL!'
Agree we have plenty of police departments that we deal with that have the same issues, the difference is that stateside, there's always another authority to go or to investigate the police department. (muttering about Portland, OR and San Francisco--two that I've had to deal with) It doesn't appear that's the case there.
That's precisely right. In Aruba, it's a one shot deal. There is NO accountability to anyone. ABSOLUTE power corrupts ABSOLUTELY!!
I'm a little dismayed that Republicans continue to be the quiet little mouses (although with bloviating toady it's tempting to just shut up and let him ribbit) who just won't do the "Network" thing and stand up and yell...
"We're Mad As Hell and We're Not Gonna Take It Anymore!"
What can one expect from a pathological lier, but more lies. I guess we are supposed to believe he called her "Hey you" all evening.
I had the same thought - that Arubans may be whining and exaggerating just to gain sympathy.
To think Beth and Jug had to endure the pig's insults against Natalee when they were so completely traumatized and horrified by her disappearance and thoughts of what had happened to her. It goes beyond cruel, and is evil. What a nasty, horrid, evil man to be chief of police.
Minister of Justice Rudy Croes does not consider taking measures against Twitty yet, but does not rule out the possibility to shut her up in the future.
Here's an interesting article about good-ole-Rudy Croes, who wants to shut Beth Twitty up:

Criticism Assessment chamber on helicopter project
ORANJESTAD The Algemene Rekenkamer (ARA General Audit Chamber) strongly criticized the manner in which the minister of Justice Rudy Croes (MEP) closed a contract with a helicopter company from Venezuela. According to the Audit Chamber the objectives of the project are not included in the contract. It is also unclear why the minister didnt opt for a public tendering and why no regulations were made to ensure nondisclosure of confidential information.
The minister of Justice signed a contract with a helicopter company from Venezuela on September 13, 2003 in the framework of the fight against crime. It entailed the lease of a helicopter and its pilot. The contract had been extended a few times. The latest version expires on December 31, 2007. The costs run up to 3.4 million florins.
The Audit Chamber immediately pointed out that there is no memo in which the helicopter is justified: Before taking on contractual obligations one must first review if they fit in the established policy. There must also be a clear view of the projects specific objectives. The specifications and requirements are established from these objectives. ARA explains that the objectives must be established beforehand as to determine afterwards whether or not these objectives were attained.
The helicopter project entails an amount distinctly higher then 100.000 florins, which according to the law calls for a public tendering. You can deviate from this, but only for certain reasons stipulated under this same law.
The ministers reason for not conducting a public tendering was the urgent nature of the matter. But according to the law this is not a valid reason. The Audit Chamber also pointed out that the contract doesnt refer to the confidential nature of the activities. They also couldnt find any documents showing that the ministry of Justice verified whether or not the leased company complies with certain safety codes.
The contract itself does not meet the approval of the Audit Chamber. The document is drafted in English and doesnt state where a legal dispute should be argued or which laws would be of effect.
The contract doesnt regulate confidentiality by the Venezuelan personnel, nor liabilities in the event of accidents and insurances in the event of damage.
The signature dates on the contracts also seem incorrect.
The Audit Chamber also had qualms concerning the calculation of penalty interests for late payments. Nowhere does it state what is considered late payment and when this penalty goes into effect. Even a passage concerning the price increases is criticized by ARA: This opens the door to future problems.
ORANJESTAD Fees for the residential use of water of up to 12 cubic meters will not be increased in October. Surpassing this usage will cost substantially more staring October 1. With this policy the WEB utilities company is trying to stimulate the public to use water in moderation.
WEB emphasizes that with this measure fees for the first 12 cubic meters have not increased during six months, notwithstanding the drastic price increases for oil products on the world market. Following the already known reasons for the increase in prices last year, the hurricanes Katrina and Rita also ravaged the oil installations in the Golf of Mexico. This placed the already low supply of the oil refineries under even more pressure, which in turn caused a further increase in prices.
On September 29 a barrel of fuel for the production of potable water cost 47.75 dollars per barrel. The increase of the utility fees (calculating in that the price doesnt increase for the first 12 cubic meters) amounts to 7.3 percent. The fee of electricity delivered to distribution company Elmar has been increased with 10 percent. Elmar NV will in turn inform its clients about the fee increases that this will cause.
The WEB doesnt exclude the possibility of future fee adjustments and warns consumers to start taking this into account.
Consumers are being urged worldwide to use water and energy in moderation. Aruba is no exception. WEB does its part through TV spots in which their mascot Gotito admonishes the public not to waste water.
The WEB-board believes that the company and the consumers have a joint responsibility to conserve water and energy. The WEB already invested in 3 innovative turbines from Wärtsila, consisting of a new technology that produces electricity in a more efficient manner. The results will be visible in 2006, when these machines become operational.
-end of article-
Hurricane Katrina caused the media distraction that allowed Aruba to set the 3 perps free, thereby causing great pain for the Twitty/Holloway families. Katrina also has caused higher oil prices for the production of potable water in Aruba, which in turn caused a further increase in water prices, thereby causing great pain to the economy of Aruba. Tit-for-tat.
Oh I agree so much with that. Beth and Jug have actually been outright ABUSED. It's hideous what has been done to this family not to mention Natalee. This is why I believe it is VITALLY IMPORTANT to NOT drop the pressure. We need to CONTINUE to support Beth. This poor family and especially a mother, will never have a minutes peace for the rest of her natural life unless Natalee is returned home. It's just CRIMINAL what these pigs have done. And speaking like that is unforgiveable. I so pray that America and even Canada and some Euro countries such as Britian will avoid this Island hell hole like the plague.
I'm convinced that only the loss of tourism dollars big time will cause ALE to solve Natalee's case.
Otherwise, Aruba is not motivated to solve it because the island's rulers are so corrupt. They will have to become desperate for money before they do anything but let the perps slide.
Arubans are very thin skinned and interpret anything and everything as an insult to them and their country. They now seem to be so paranoid about Americans not vacationing in Aruba like they are "entitled" to our money because they set out to get it a long time ago and have succeeded, I'm sure this is not only a case of their "whining and exaggerating" but also their interpreting anything and everything, real or imagined, as a slap in the face to them. Keep in mind they are ultra-sensitve to being 2nd class citizens at the mercy of the Dutch because that's how they have always been treated and that has changed very little since their semi-autonomy. Some of them may even have guilty consciences about the treatment of NH's family even though their fear of losing money outweighs that.
