"I spoke with Paul Reynolds this afternoon regarding what Beth’s plans may be in dealing with the investigation regarding her missing daughter, Natalee Holloway. Paul said he might have a better idea over the weekend as Beth is returning home.

"According to Paul she will be attending a Concert in Arkansas for Natalee. Paul was not exactly sure of the date and the time. No sooner did Paul reference the concert than this was forwarded to me from The Pine Bluff Commercial."

CONCERT TO BENEFIT HOLLOWAY FAMILY

"A benefit concert for the family of missing Alabama teen Natalee Holloway is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, 717 W. 32nd Ave.

"Holloway has been missing on the island of Aruba since May 30 and intensive efforts to solve the mystery of her disappearance have been unsuccessful.

"Natalee is the granddaughter of Pine Bluff resident, Ann Reynolds. Natalee’s mother, Beth Holloway Twitty, is a 1978 graduate of Pine Bluff High School.

"Music will be provided by Nashville recording artists, “Downhere,” a Christian rock group from Canada.

"According to event organizer, Bruce Roberts, Twitty has indicated she will attend the benefit. The concert is free, Roberts said, but donations will be accepted to help offset expenses incurred by the family as they continue the search for Natalee."

Aruba: Todays Appeal for Joran and The Kalpoe Brothers

This just in from a live interview on Magic 96.5 with a live interview from Tito Lacle with Joran’s Lawyer Antonio Carlo.

"SUMMARY: Results of today’s appeal will be announced next Tuesday at 2:00pm. Defense Attorney Carlo stated that he felt confident that the suspension of his client’s detention, Joran Van der Sloot, will not be overturned.

"If by some far chance the judge rules in favor of the prosecution:
1. Joran has to return to serve the remainder of his 30 days in Jail
2.The Kalpoe brothers will have to serve the remainder of their 8 days of detention.

"The prosecutor has re-asked for DNA samples of ALL three suspects Joran Van der Sloot, Deepak Kalpoe and Satish Kalpoe. In order for the Judge of Appeals to decide, the prosecutor had to present valid reasons to compare the results to."

Joe Mammana; “We are coming back to Aruba. Hell is coming with them”

So says Joe Mammana. A statement that energized the discouraged onlookers of the Natalee Holloway case since last weekends release of all suspects by an Aruban Judge. In an interview with Rita Cosby on Thursday night, philanthropist, Joe Mammana, said the following that is assured to put a fire back in the case of missing teen Natalee Holloway:

Rita, one last thing. I just want the people of Aruba to know that Natalee Holloway’s mom, Beth Twitty and Joe Mammana are coming back to Aruba. Hell is coming with them, we did not forget Natalee Holloway.

Who is Joe Mammana? He has provided many of the recent missing persons cases with the monetary funds to create their rewards for information or safe return. Or as Mammana calls it, “Bounty Money“.

Joe Mammana says he hopes $50,000 will bring information about the disappearance of Julie Popovich, 20, of suburban Reynoldsburg, who has not been seen since leaving a bar near Ohio State University Aug. 11.

“Do rewards work? Sure, yes they do,” said Kevin Miles, president of Central Ohio Crime Stoppers, citing tips the organization received about Columbus-area highway shooter Charles McCoy after a reward was offered.

Mammana’s donation is the largest private contribution in the local program’s history, Miles said.

Popovich’s disappearance has garnered attention from 24-hour cable news networks.

Mammana said he learned Popovich disappeared from a report on Fox News. He also has offered rewards for information in cases of other missing people, including Alabama high school senior Natalee Holloway in Aruba and LaToyia Figueroa, a pregnant Philadelphia woman.

“I don’t call it reward money,” Mammana said. “I call it bounty money. I’m a vengeful person. I don’t believe in an eye for an eye; I believe in two for one.”

Joe Mammana has also contributed $100,000 reward for the missing 26 year old, nine months pregnant Amanda Jones. He played a major role in the $100,000 reward increase in the Latoyia Figueroa case. Mammana also gave $50,000 to the Julia Popovich reward as well.

Who is Joe Mammana? He has been described as a hard-boiled Sicilian businessman, a redeemed ex-con and millionaire chief executive of Yardley Farms and a self made success, who also has gained fame for posting rewards in criminal cases. Some like ‘The Number 2 Pencil’ like to refer to him as Philly’s Avenging Angel.

“These losers can kill each other and it would be a public service, a thinning of the herd,” said hard-boiled businessman Joe Mammana, putting a $10,000 “bounty” on “the heads” of the “cowards and thugs” who killed Faheem Thomas-Childs, 10, in a crossfire outside T.M. Peirce Elementary School…

For those who whine about the Natalee Holloway coverage only being about a pretty while blond girl, it would appear that Joe Mammana has covered all sides of the spectrum. To Joe its not about race, its about justice and finding the missing persons no matter who they may be.

What’s eating this obviously well-heeled suburban guy in the beautifully tailored jacket and slacks, the old-school fedora, the big-league jewelry and the imported Italian sports car that costs as much as a three-bedroom colonial on an acre of prime suburb? Why does he care so much about young, innocent inner-city murder victims?

I’m Sicilian,” he said. “My children are half Spanish. I don’t see color. I don’t see race. We’re all human beings. And we’re all subject to the streets. These bums who shoot children — I want them off the streets forever.”

This guy sounds KEWL!! I LOVE the statement "Joe Mammana and Beth Twitty are returning to Aruba and they are brining HELL with them"!! - I just love it!!

I do too. It seems Joe Mammana has posted rewards for numerous missing persons. This is like a shot in the arm to this investigation. Beth needs additional strength now to help her go forward.

How have I missed him? That's great! I wonder if he looks like he sounds he does :)

I've been hunting for a picture - haven't found one yet.

I saw an interview with this guy, been a couple of weeks ago or more. He seems sincere and certainly puts his money where his mouth is. He said he has done well in life and wants to give back, this is one way he does that.

I looked for a picture too :) Oh, he really does seem sincere...did I understand correctly he had something to do with a reward on Chandra Levy (or was it just a site about her). Wouldn't it be fabulous to really be able to put your money where your mouth is??? I'd love to be able to do more than pray about it, I'd love to pay someone to have a real heart to heart with Joran.

I haven't read anything about Mammana and Chandra Levy, but wouldn't be surprised that he did help with her case, too.

JOE MAMMANA, PHILANTHROPIST:? Well, first of all, I just felt that, you know, after watching the news, America is there for everybody and for the people around the world.? And we need to be there for ourselves.?

You know, I really don't know what kind of assistance is coming in from other countries that we give assistance to.? I haven't heard anybody reaching out to us as of now.? But, again, it is the greatest country in the world.? It's the only country we have to build a wall around to keep people out.? Everyone else has to build a wall to keep people in.?

And we'll do whatever we possibly can.? The Red Cross has been, to be really honest with you, a disappointing to me.? I was on the phone with them this morning.? I was unable to get through.? After speaking to Laura Hao (ph) and Ken Minger (ph), we were able to get some things together.

In the city of Philadelphia, the police commissioner, Sylvester Johnson, has stepped to the plate.? He's working with me.? City Councilman Juan Ramos, Councilman Mariano, Councilman Kelly, they're all stepping to the plate.?

Juan Ramos, as you remember, it was his niece, LaToyia Figueroa, that was missing up here.? And the city stepped to help him.? He now wants to give back.? So he has been a big plus.

Many of the supermarkets in the area, the Catholic charities, they're stepping in.? We're putting a caravan of things together.? The head of my transportation, Ruben Mendez (ph), is putting people together.? He'll be willing to take trucks down.?

The problem is, from what we understand, is first was a staging area, which we now have in Montgomery, Alabama.? And after that, as we understand, it's just like a civil unrest down there.? You know, we don't want to send trucks down there where they take our drivers out, hurt our drivers, hurt our trucks.? In a sense, it's out of control.?

And what they need to do down in that area is they need to bring control to that.? You know, the police?we hear there's all kinds of things going on in the convention centers, in the streets.? It's a different environment right now.? You need to improvise, adapt and adjust.?

And there's no need to hear that the police cannot hold these people.?

The looters, you know?what's that, Rita??

The most special and touching scene truly was seeing veteran referee Frank Cappuccino in the ring as PJ told the crowd about Frank's son, Frank Cappuccino Jr., a Vietnam veteran suffering in the advance stage of Parkinson disease. A touching moment when Mr. Cappuccino emotionally spoke about Frank Jr., his need for 24 hour care and his fundraiser on September 26th at the Pa. Beth Holloway Twitty Interview With Bon Dia; No holding back

From todays Bon Dia, Saturday September 10th 2005, page A12. Beth Holloway Twitty lets some accusations fly. She calls out the DTZ [Department of Technical Affairs and the members of the Strategic Group as well.

Mother of Natalee Holloway Moves Back to The United States, But Will Be in Aruba Every Week

ORANJESTAD- Beth Twitty is back in Aruba, but tomorrow already she’ll go back to Alabama. Nevertheless, as she told American media, she’ll be coming to Aruba regularly to see what is happening with the investigation. Even more, it is her intention for her to come back every week.

The mother of Natalee Holloway is disappointed in the judicial system of Aruba. She does not hide this thought, not even for the local press anymore. Beth Twitty says that based on the comments that she saw, declarations of the three suspects that she read, that she finds it totally impossible for a judge to suspend the detention of Joran van der Sloot and the siblings Satish and Deepak Kalpoe. Even more, the lady told Bon Dia Aruba that the suspects were set free, just when they were starting to talk against each other.

Beth was met in her suite at the Wyndham Hotel, the suite that was her house for all these times. She is going to send the majority of her things back to Alabama, and she herself will return to Aruba “every week for a few days”, only with a suitcase. She already has a good understanding with the management of the hotel, who will keep on giving her accommodations.

Mrs. Twitty said that she saw the documents signed pa the three suspects, where specifically Joran van der Sloot admitted to have had sexual relations with Natalee, while the youngster [Natalee] was going in and out of unconsciousness. This according to the mother of Natalee Holloway is sufficient to show that Joran had sexual relations with the youngster [Natalee] without her consent, and as such, she thinks Joran must be sentenced for this. “This is rape”, Mrs. Twitty said.

The mother of the youngster of Birmingham, Alabama does not talk of murder , but she is convinced that a crime took place, based on the declarations of the the three suspects. “I can’t say with assurance that Joran killed her,but I think that I have enough motive to think this. And my lawyer said, that on September 1st, the suspects were not denying that a crime had been committed.

Documents that she had access to, according to his own declaration, show that Joran van der Sloot changed his story at least 4 times, and not twice as he declared during his interview with Exclusive [local news show and news magazine –Arubagirl].
Beth Twitty also says that she isn’t saying that Natalee didn’t drink alcohol during this trip. But “Natalee had the age to drink. She was 18 years old, and she didn’t break any laws Joran did break the law, by being in a night club, in a casino without having the age.”

I’m Not Staying Quiet Anymore

Beth Twitty said that she has a lot of information and out of respect for the Investigative Corps, she didn’t talk. But now she has no trust anymore. For two weeks already, she has no contact with Karen Janssen, who also gave the order to Eric Soemers to avoid talking to the family of Natalee. “It was very hard to stay professional, and to keep informations confidential. But now I can’t say quiet anymore. Why was I protecting the integrity of this investigation?” the lady said, adding that the police ignored many aspects of this case, that eventually hindered the investigation. All these constant errors, make her think about a ‘cover-up’ and she is keeps on thinking this.

The lady tells that where there were mistakes made, starting with her own declaration taken by the police, the night that they went to Joran’s house at Montanja. Beth Twitty tells that she signed a document of her declaration and trusted that everything would be right. The document was in Dutch. After a time she was able to get copies, and sent these to the U.S. to be translated. And when the translation arrived, three days later, she lady noticed that the declarations were not what she had given.

Beth Twitty has heavy criticism against the Aruba judicial system, but does not know who to blame. She is aware that the judges make the decisions, but she thinks that there is inconsistencies in the documents, as it was the case in her own declarations, and these make it so that the judges took the decision to suspend the detention.

On the other hand, both lawyer Anthony Carlo and Joran van der Sloot insist that there was not a change in declaration, except the first time when he lied that he left Natalee at the Holiday Inn Hotel. Also, Joran insists that he is innocent, and that he hopes that the investigation can go on so that he show that he is free of guilt.

Pressure of the United States

Beth Twitty stands on the fact that Aruba authorities took advantage of Katrina and its effects on the United States to let the three youngsters go, since it was known that the attention of the U.S. media would be on New Orleans and other areas. Just like she also criticizes the fact that the DTZ [Department of Technical Affairs] suddenly raised the price for a ’satellite up link’ from $800 to $4000. She feels that these were attempts of Aruba to chase the American press away.

Also, she herself has received a call from one of the members of the Strategic Group (she did not mention specific names, but she did talk about John Paulie, Bob Dilella, and Steve Cohen), that asked her “what day will you finally leave Aruba.” This question created a determination that Twitty must keep on coming.

And this time she has another group that will help her in her search, Joe Mamanna. Mamanna is a philanthropic millionaire, who believes in vengeance and said in the U.S., that “hell will come with him to Aruba.” When Beth Twitty was asked what she thinks this makes Arubans think, she answered: “I cannot comment on what other people think.”
