Think about how it is in College. So many parties, so many girls to conquer. Joran is radio active. I still think he is going to have one miserable time there. He is going to be under a microscope at the least. He has to mind his manners, LOL.

He wasn't pronounced innocent...it's just they couldn't get evidence against him. Some people may be corrupt, but they're not entirely stupid :)

Well said spectre as always. I agree. Firstly I have NO doubt these guys including the VDS father are guilty. And one of the Kalpoe bros. (Deepak) was online within hours of being released making a statement like: "So I'm out, I'm free, you may think I'm arrogant but I don't give a F*^k!! Nice huh! It won't be long. These guys live in bars, drinking partying, raping, drugging etc. "Loose lips sink ships - theirs"!!

I wonder if these three have reformed. Do they have any remorse for what they did? Do they fear getting caught if they act up again? What is it they say about a dog...once it tastes human blood it has to be put down... I believe that also applies to sexual predators.

On the other hand you would think coming so close to being caught would make them change their ways. I would like to hear the view of someone that has studied such things. Some of Hitler's SS thugs hid out and apparently behaved after WWII.

Scared Monkeys keeps their eye on the ball. The mainstream medias coverage of the Natalee Holloway disappearance has been sidetracked because of the horrendous damage caused my hurricane Katrina. That is understandable, unfortunate for the family and those who care, but it is understandable.

However, this case is still an ongoing case. We understand this, and are committed to following through with our coverage and commitment to the story. To this end, the Aruban media have picked up that we are doing some of the more aggressive reporting on the subject.

Aruba Today carries a quote from Scared Monkeys on their front page.

Aruban Prime Minister States they will Continue and Demand a search for answers

As Joran van der Sloot flew off to the Netherlands to resume his life and college and as Beth Holloway Twitty flew back to Alabama having said she had exhausted all legal means in Aruba; the Prime Minister of Aruba, Nelson Oduber, today stated that the case is not concluded in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.

Prime Minister Nelson Oduber, who has previously said Aruban authorities made mistakes in the early part of the Holloway investigation, added that he could appreciate the “dismay” of the missing teen’s mother.

“But, the case is not concluded. And we will continue to demand that the search for answers into what happened to Natalee will not cease,” Oduber said in a statement released Monday.

The remarks from the prime minister, who is running for re-election this month, are the first since the release Saturday of van der Sloot, 18, and two Surinamese brothers.

The prosecution’s appeal of the suspended detention will take place Thursday afternoon at 2 pm.

Judge Terberg will come from Curacao and then go back to confer with the 2 other judges.

Kock said it’s not necessary for the suspects to attend, however his client will attend.

Classes in the NL start next Monday, so Joran will probably fly in for the day.

So what happens if Joran flies in and the prosecution wins the appeal?

Anita Van der Sloot also pleaded for the media to leave him alone.

“He’s a good boy. It’s enough,” she told The Associated Press. She also expressed sympathy for Holloway’s family in the telephone interview.

“I pray for Natalee and the Holloway-Twitty family and I’m still convinced she is alive,” she said.

That’s a rather odd comment Anita, as just the other day you made this comment that raised eye brows as to what she meant by “not give Natalee back?”

“Hang him, that’s it.” “Then we’re done. But this will not give Natalee back”

A court in Rotterdam has imposed sentences of up to 12 months in youth detention on 11 teenagers who took part in gang rapes of girls. The last three months was suspended. A total 12 teenage boys, aged 14 to 17, appeared before the court. The case against one of the group was adjourned. The defendants were part of a group made up primarily of young boys of who raped three girls aged 13 to 14. Only some of the defendants were involved in each rape.

From the article we learn that for the crime of gang raping young girls, the court ordered the 11 teens to 12 months in youth detention and to take part in a course about "sexuality and sexual behaviour." They were also forbidden from having any contact with the victims (quite thoughtful of the judge, don't you think?).

I can't help but wonder how their gang-raped victims feel about these kids and their court-ordered sentence.

Tough sentence! Joran has nothing to worry about in Holland.

Thus, the judge who suspended JVDS' detention apparently did not initially recognize the potential conflicts between condition #1 and condition #2, and, when presented with one such conflict, decided that #1 trumped #2. Perhaps he felt that Dutch law enforcement would be able to handle any questinoning, interaction, etc. with Joran adequately. However, that was apparently news to Aruban authorities, given their plans to continue questioning JVDS in Aruba. These plans, in turn, suggest that similar arrangements are not in the works with authorities in the Netherlands.

Like I said, a total lack of control of the situation on the part of authorities in Aruba. Is there any wonder why BHT has given up on Aruban "avenues"?

Wendy Murphy, former prosecutor: In technical rules of the court, that is probably correct. But bottom line is everyone is drawing a negative inference of that. He did not have to boogy to Holland, but he did. Obviously you are trying to run away and that’s what guilty people do, and that’s why we all are suspicious period. Regardless of what the judge said, he could have stayed but he ran. (Aren’t there colleges on Aruba too?).

I don’t think there is any mistake that all this happened in the middle of a hurricane. You know they know that the most important thing for the Holloway family has been the pressure from the press. All of a sudden when we couldn’t pay attention to this case, after doing it for so long, because of the terrible disaster down south BOOM! They let these guys go! What cowards! What a bunch of cowards! I am frustrated, and if I was Natalee’s mother I would be doing nude cartwheels down the middle of main street. Anything and everything to get people to continue to pay attention, because it is the only thing they care about. The bottom line is no one is really that surprised that al three guys are walking free today, because there is no question about it. The police screwed up, the guys lawyer upped, and they clammed up. All three of them stuck together like glue. They know what happened and they say nothing. It is THE most frustrating case in the world!

On 9-5 “FoxNews” reported that Main Suspect J. SLOOT and Current Suspect P. SLOOT have left ARUBA and flown to HOLLAND.

On 9-6 the girl who claims that Main Suspect J. SLOOT date-rape-drugged then raped her has contacted “Court TV’s” Catherine Crier, and Crier gave some information about her situation today. The girl is still claiming that Main Suspect J. SLOOT raped her after drugging her (this has nothing to do with the provocative bikini photos)

Oranjestad -- In the afternoon hours on Monday, September 5, 2005, the Public Prosecutor's Office started summary proceedings with the judge of instruction in the case of N. Holloway with regards to the scheduled departure of one of the suspects to Holland that same evening.

The three suspects, S.K., D.K. and J.v.d.S., who were released conditionally by the judge of instruction on Saturday, September 3, 2005, received a request from the investigative team to voluntarily report to the members of the police team investigating the disappearance of N. Holloway for further questioning. One of the conditions set by the judge of instruction was that the suspects must remain available for further investigation. On Monday, September 5th, the two brothers, S.K. and D.K. voluntarily reported themselves to the police for further questioning. The third suspect J.v.d.S, was requested to report to the police on Tuesday, September 6 2005.

Yesterday in the afternoon hours the Public Prosecutor’s Office found out that the suspect J.v.d.S. was planning to leave Aruba for Holland that same night. The same afternoon the Public Prosecutor's Office started summary proceedings with the judge of instruction to prevent J.v.d.S. from traveling to Holland and to petition the judge of instruction to order the suspect to report to the police for further questioning in the case.

While it is now well-known that all three suspects in the Natalee Holloway disapearance have been released, I can now report that another detainee, Freddy Arambatsis-Zedan was previously released discreetly without any charges being brought as it seems there was nothing substantial to the allegations, reported here, for which he was thought to be a suspect.

It's my understanding that Arambatsis-Zedan will likely leave the island, if he hasn't left already. It has now been three months since the disappearance Natalee Holloway and not a single suspect is in custody.

Sorry, cherry, I'm a little dense. By "Asian" do you mean Islamic? Or the traditional designation of Asian (Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, etc.)? Both would be correct being from the continent of Asia. I'm just confused. :o)

The reason I ask is that I looked for more info, but could not find anything about what race the boys belonged to. However, I did see in a couple of places where increased incidents of rape were correlated to an increase in the Islamic population of a country.

Yes, I remember when Theo Van Gogh was killed, and that there is a rising Islamic population in Holland. Other countries are finding similar problems as well, I think. In fact, I believe that the increase in Muslims has created problems in every corner of Europe. I don't know about rape, but certainly there has been an increase in terrorism in England and Spain.

I hadn't really thought about it too much before, but I wonder if the Kalpoes might ascribe to Islamic beliefs . . .
