I'm not sure what they knew or didn't know, but agree wit hyou that it is very possible that they didn't do anything wrong or criminal and know nothing about what happened after they dropped them off, if that is what they did.
In a way, this is part of what I think is wrong with the Dutch system. It is easy for them to cover up crimes because the public never gets to see what evidence if any is collected.

What is wrong with the dutch "system", is that it's okay to lie to police and obstruct justice with no penalty. Apparently the dutch aren't interested in truth.
