You guys have the 1st version that hit the public. There has been updated info since then. PVDS went along the the Birmingham group to the Wyndham:
Paul van der Sloot's Changing Story
C. CROES: We went to the Wyndham Hotel.
VAN SUSTEREN: Why did you go to the Wyndham?
C. CROES: There was a feeling that Joran may be there playing poker.
VAN SUSTEREN: Did Paul Van der Sloot go with this entourage to the Wyndham Hotel?
C. CROES: Yes, he did.
VAN SUSTEREN: Who did he travel with?
C. CROES: I believe he went with the police.
VAN SUSTEREN: What happened when you got to the Wyndham? What did you do?
C. CROES: We went up to the casino area, and it was closing down, talking to some people. And they mentioned that they thought they had seen them there. They thought they had seen Natalee there, but there was no level of certainty.
VAN SUSTEREN: After all of you were at the Wyndham, and you learned that Joran was not there, what was the next thing that happened?
C. CROES: We then went back over to the Van der Sloots' house.
VAN SUSTEREN: Prior to arriving at the Van der Sloot's house, did you hear Paul Van der Sloot say anything at all about Natalee, about the disappearance, or any information? Did he seem to know anything at all about the disappearance?
C. CROES: No.

I too have been following this story for the last 30 days even tho I don't say much, I am here for many hours each day (too many). That is the first time I had heard that particular fact. I was not doubting that you heard it I was just curious who it came from because I had not heard it.
I am fortunate too I can spend as much time here as I choose.
I guess you have been on FR long enough to know what it means when a southern lady says Bless Your heart.
Or septic tank. Any storage tank type object. Water tank. What about that oil refinery. Isn't that where the decapitated guy worked. Maybe he saw something.
The Fox reporter didn't say where he'd gotten his info about plummeting tourist trade, maybe he called a few hotels and discovered there had been numerous cancellations. Or maybe he has a travel agent source or two. But the speed with which this was 180'd the next night indicates Fox didn't want this emphasized. (They might have worried that they'd be told to leave the island, and then there goes a very hot story. Or even more likely, they thought the island would join in and help find N if negative things weren't discussed.) The truth is nobody wants Aruba's tourist industry to suffer, esp. since so many people's livelihood depends on it. People who had nothing to do with N's disappearance, many of whom have probably searched long and hard for her. We just hope that N turns up and there's evidence enough to convict her killer if she's dead.
" This case and these Aruban authorities STINKETH!!"
I agree, Canadian. Especially troubling is the connection of PVDS to those who are suppose to be investigating and judging the case. It must be so frustrating for the Twitty's to realize what they are up against. I feel so sorry for Natalee and all the pain she is going through.
I've heard this both ways. That both boys were there and that only depak was there. It was depak that told joran to shut his mouth and not say anything, though.
Good point.
Sagging tourist trade being in print, as a big story, I don't know. I can see editors not wanting to touch that side of it, not wanting to make a bad situation worse, esp. when the family is still there hoping to get N back. They could print it later on, when she's found or turns up. Since it seems Aruba has a dark underbelly, like the rest of the Caribbean, that nobody talks about, the drug trade, white slavery/prostitution rings...you get the impression nobody wants bad news spread around. The image of an island paradise is everything. A friend of mine went there several years ago, and was told not to go anywhere without the tour guide, that some parts of the island weren't 'safe'. She had a great time, too. Loved Aruba and wants to go back.
"CNN: Fisherman saw white suzuki on the marriot beach that night. Didn't see couple on beach. A white Suzuki was one of the vehicles confiscated from VDS home."
Whoa! That's interesting. First I've heard of that!
Yep...it's best if the soil doesn't have to be turned. Weigh the body down and drop it in.
Now the monkeys are arguing the vnds car is red. I guess I should start at the end over there.
Uh oh!!
LOL...It doesn't matter where you start over there. Someone is going to say the opposite of whatever is posted.
What an awful tragic story.
I don't think the average islander is evil. They just want to feed themselves and their families. Natalee's disappearance has threatened all that. Maybe those in the lower class have a firm belief that the only people who make it through the justice system in one piece are in the elite class. This seemed to be the opinion of the wife of one of the black security guards arrested early on. She all but tore her hair and clothing, she was hysterical. The gist of her screams were that when anything goes wrong, they pin it on a black guy.
All they want is life back to normal. They probably think N is dead, and at J's hand, but since the rich get away with everything, J won't be prosecuted. It won't get N back, anyway, if she's been eaten by sharks. They can't change things, and while they feel sympathy for N's family, there's nothing more they can do. As for the dark underbelly stuff, if they don't have N, they probably don't care.
Is that white suzuki PvdS's.
I also wonder just how good their forensic teams are or if they really checked very well considering their unwillingness to want to investigate the VdS family.
"There's another thread going with some MB ex-students who were on the trip. Remember the pictures of Joran's "best friends?" Freddie & Jaime? Well, some of them found one of Jaime's sites and started e-mailing him.
He was flirty at first, told them to come down to his island and he'd show them a good time. Then when one of them asked about Joran, he didn't answer for about 15 minutes, then started blasting Natalee, calling her horrible names and saying she deserved everything that happened to her. I'd post it, but even the MB guy's very edited version is sick. (It made the MB guy sick and everyone who read it -- even adults who were shown Jaime's emails).
"Jaime never said his friend was innocent. He merely blasted Natalee for causing his friend so much trouble and Joran said she wasn't even that good _______. (you can fill in the blank).
"Jaime is originally from Colombia. The MB kids said they feel he knows something about this case-- or may even be involved from the responses they got from him.
"I keep thinking back to the kid who was kidnapped from Aruba years ago. How they took him to Venezuela via speed boat & 38 people were in on it that they knew of-- Arubans, Venezuelans & Colombians. During the almost three months they held him (for ransom) they moved him to 70 different houses. "
"I just keep wondering if that's what's happened to Natalee. The one cryptic message left by someone (can't remember now) on the Aruba board which said, "ask the boys what they put in her drink at 3:15 am. Ask them about the 2 1/2 mile boat trip."
"Venezuela's farther than 2 1/2 miles, but what if she was passed off onto ANOTHER boat while they were 2 1/2 miles out away from the Dutch coast guard?
I just feel she's alive and being held for ransom somewhere off the island"
They've decided red jeep blue suv towed from vnds.
moneywrench is now saying that it is a red suzuki that was seen on the beach. Follow moneywrench he is monitoring SM.
