What is happening to Free Republic Mr. Robinson? The Bush Haters and Republican Haters are getting louder and more daring by the hour. These phony conservatives who claim the Conservatism purity are savagely attacking President Bush and the GOP as bad as the worst liberals.
The Bash Bush feast is becoming a part of every thread. Everywhere you see Bush is a traitor, Bush wants to sell our sovereignty to Mexico, Bush is a liberal, Bush has no spine, Bush is destroying our economy, Bush is puppet in Vincent Fox hand, Bush is this Bush is that, everything wrong in this world is Bush fault.
Nothing but doom and gloom is coming from these phony conservatives. For them our economy is destroyed, liberals are controlling the government, the GOP will be finished by 2006, Mexico has invaded the US and changed its identity, China is superior to us, we are no more a superpower, and on and on and on. Every minor bump in the road is turned into a Mount Everest of catastrophe and disaster
Either Free Republic will remain the Premier political forum on the internet, a site to advance the real conservative cause and provide great and continuous support to our President Bush and the Republican Party, or it will be forum controlled by bitter and delusional phony conservatives who can never win on the ballot box, and come to FR to poison the atmosphere through their extreme kooky rhetoric and turn it into another Dummyland.
Enough is Enough.
Spiff DOES have a point, there. whatever one may think of racism, it is not illegal to have racist feelings, or even to mouth off racist sentiments.
...In my opinion, if you can't pass this test you should not be allowed U.S. citizenship nor be allowed to vote if you are (unfortunately) already a citizen. You say you love American more than some of us here. If you can't pass this test, you don't even know what America is and therefore you can't actually love it.
i would go a step further than a mere constitutional/government essay exam. i would require that anyone applying for citizenship would have to know the entire U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, as well as the Declaration of Independence by HEART.
Any person applying for citizenshio would have to write them out by heart AND recite them out loud by heart IN ENGLISH...EVERY WORD.

Your suggestions on how to accomplish this?
Any person applying for citizenship would have to write them out by heart AND recite them out loud by heart IN ENGLISH...EVERY WORD.
regarding those thoughts i wrote above, we would take into account certain disabilities (someone who cannot speak, etc.).
but if a person applying for citizenship has the reasonable ability to communicate by memory the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence, then they would be obligated to do so.
Although exceptions could be granted for certain unique cases, they woud be rare and case sensitive.
I wish we had a bozo filter we could set to ignore certain posters. Each poster would have on his profile page how many people have put him on bozo status. There would also be a page where you could view the top 25 bozos. While it would not eliminate the need for banning some posters, it would help.
In english, certainly.
Absolutely. In fact, they would also have to pass a basic English exam with certain exceptions re disabilities).
I made a mistake in my other post when I said "you say", I apologize for that.
Well, i don't want to quibble too much, but i must point out that you actually DID say that i said those things:
"This is the rhetoric that you say so many times on some many threads."
i accept your apology.

You're not gaining any support with this kind of post.

I like it. :)
Although you questions are very simple to answer I am not going to answer it for you because you I have the "right" not to answer for you.
I'll take that as a big YES!
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."~ Teddy Roosevelt (1918)
Excellent post.. Absolutely right. Thanks for posting FBD!
i already posted that ... it's a great quote.. here's more of it:
"The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else."

FR is never gonna be what it was when you and I first joined. Things change. Remember when FR was not even acknowledged? Now we celebrate when one of ours gets face time on H&C. And look at what we did to Dan Rather. This is the reason for these infiltrations. We are a threat to the liberal establishment and they are here to attack us. We can ignore them or take them on, but we won't run away from them. They might even learn something from us. Chin up, jv.
jveritas responded privately to all of the questions in my little test. This may shock some of you, but he passed.
bump to your post! thanks
You've been infiltrated by law-abiding citizens, uncitizen? Maybe it's not the place it once, and maybe that's a good thing. A threat to liberal establishment IS THE LAW. They circumvent it and overrule the will of the people all the time. But, your attitude and promoting of one who wants to be a citizen, but not obey the law is noted. IMHO this is subversion of the government, and the rule of law.
