Now of course, the absolute cardinal rule that applies in any death sentence in our court system, is all of the evidence and testimony must conclude and sum up to 'beyond a reasonable doubt.' This case was not a criminal case. This was a civil case, so the 'reasonable doubt' standard of evidence does not apply.
