yes, i am an attorney. and if you follow my posts here you will see that i, as well as other attorneys, and conservative legal pundits, disagree with the result here. laws have led to unjust results before in our history, as has been pointed out repeatedly.
I'm being harsh in my rhetoric and I am apologize to all who may be offended by it. That said, we need to have frank talk as a nation about when the heroic measures need to stop.
I have friends who have bankrupted themselves to the detriment of other family members over false hope.
Sorry, I thought we were talking about Terri here. You can't decide for everyone what acceptable levels of well-being are. It is up to them, or their legal guardian. Leave trying to rule the whole world to the likes of Randall Terry.
You have posted a grave misinterpretation of my line of questions--I am simply looking for a concensus of the minimum societal contribution, maximum utilization of resources that are acceptable.

That is the most frightening part of this issue. Not to mention that Felos & his cronies changed the laws here in Florida to get to this end game.

Never said that, never thought that....so please don't put words in my mouth. If you thought I did...then I apologize.
The example I used was bombing abortion clinics as an act of lawlessness that is unacceptable to me.
Killing a Dr. who performs abortions(because that was the original example used) would be an act of lawlessness that is unacceptable to me.
ANYTHING done outside the law....
But speaking out against a law, disagreeing with a law, working to change a law, are all within acceptable parameters for me.
I don't sit in judgement....but I may form a judgment (which is simply an opinion) of those that go beyond those parameters.

Hi there Mo...on the question of whether or not Terri was actually, deliberately following that balloon...I have worked with about several young people who were diagnosed in PVS...every single time, that I provided cared for them, I had to chart as to whether or not they responded to me, did they track or follow me with their eyes, did they try to talk, etc. etc...
Most of the time, they did none of the things I have described...however, I do remember one time, when one of these young people appeared to track or follow me with his eyes, as I walked past the end of his bed... it was the only time he had ever done that, and I charted as much about him....so I am sure, that if someone had been filming him all that particular nite, this one snippet would have shown up, and it would appear to show that he was purposely tracking me...but in reality, it was probably just a random movement of his eyes, which happened to coincidentally correspond to exactly where I was at...but if they watched him for the other 8 hours of that nite shift, they would have seen him, as I had seem him most of the time...eyes wide open, eyes shifting and moving randomly, seemingly unable to focus on anything...I care for him for well over a year, for 8 hrs a nite, 5 days a week, and in all that time, that was the one and only time I ever saw him track me with his eyes...
I am not saying that is what is here in the Terri Shiavo film, just saying, relating what I have seen...
