You know, I have thought about this, we say we would choose death over ,,,,{fillin the blank} but from what I have seen it is very very hard to do it for quadraplegics and paraplegics. They get depressed as hell, some get permanently sort of miserable but others dont and very few request to die.

Just an observation. I have seen few people who aren't terminally ill with cancer, give up on life willingly. Unless of course they are very old. And tired and resigned.

My feeling is if I were Terri I would want to die. But if one is going to be left to die, starved, why not use a lethal injection. Same thing, only more honest if you ask me. Why preserve the idea that nature is taking its course for one's personal comfort when all know killing her is the plan.

You have made some very valid points and I agree with your basic concepts.

Why preserve the idea that nature is taking its course for one's personal comfort when all know killing her is the plan.

Where you lost the argument, was when you went beyond the facts of the case and made an emotional statement.

The "killing her is the plan", lost the argument.

This is a very emotional case and we must base our opinions upon factual information. I weigh the arguments from both sides, and compare their credibility.

If you must use deception to support our position, then you have lost the debate.

With the credibility issue, you just lost!

Suicide is very common, and increases with age.

I have seen few people who aren't terminally ill with cancer, give up on life willingly.

Yet people whine and complain about the online communities for people who wish to die.

My feeling is if I were Terri I would want to die. But if one is going to be left to die, starved, why not use a lethal injection.

I'm with you on this. The reason is that some people insist on being a nanny.

If someone has been in a state of wanting to die for a long time, who are we to say no. And if a right is delayed, it's denied.
