When my dying time comes, I want it to come swiftly...I don't want any do gooder, inflicting his will on me...thank goodness I have a living will, and have explicit advanced directives, that even a child could understand...

I married an RN and also a "biker babe."

Wearing a helmet while riding a motorcycle must be a personal choice. Yes, a helmet will keep you alive. There is also a high probability that you will suffer a spinal injury and be paralyzed from the neck down.

My wife and I have discussed this issue many times over the last 20 years.

If paralyzed, we have both chosen death.

You know, I have thought about this, we say we would choose death over ,,,,{fillin the blank} but from what I have seen it is very very hard to do it for quadraplegics and paraplegics. They get depressed as hell, some get permanently sort of miserable but others dont and very few request to die.

Just an observation. I have seen few people who aren't terminally ill with cancer, give up on life willingly. Unless of course they are very old. And tired and resigned.

My feeling is if I were Terri I would want to die. But if one is going to be left to die, starved, why not use a lethal injection. Same thing, only more honest if you ask me. Why preserve the idea that nature is taking its course for one's personal comfort when all know killing her is the plan.
