Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist said Friday that subpoenas issued by Sen. Mike Enzi compelling Terri Schiavo to appear at a March 28 congressional hearing made it a crime to disconnect her feeding tube - and threatened anyone who interfered with her testimony with jail.
In a statement issued by the majority leader's office, Frist said:
"Federal criminal law protects witnesses called before official Congressional committee proceedings from anyone who may obstruct or impede a witness attendance or testimony."
"More specifically," said the Senate's top Republican, "the law protects a witness from anyone who - by threats, force, or by any threatening letter or communication - influences, obstructs, or impedes an inquiry or investigation by Congress.
"Anyone who violates this law is subject to criminal fines and imprisonment," Frist said.

Exactly my point. All flash and TV. Too bad he can't get the right judges through.
He was dealt a windfall settlement 11 years ago.
Thanks.
I've been mainlining fruit juice and motrin all weekend. I want to be well tomorrow. I'm on schedule. Thanks for asking.
This winter has sucked, btw. I have never had a winter with so many colds, one after another. Must be bad living.
I'm assuming you are referring to those comments made in #142 by "DCPatriot". Yes, I agree.
The first "Hillbilly Belter" was great, great, great Grandpa. He spread the idea that this Bible adherence that has pervaded society cuts into his freedom. "We don't need nobody to rule over our affairs".
Grandpa, who did things his way, passed on a legacy of Libertarian orientation. Whenever the topic of societal morals comes up the "Hillbilly Belter" pounces to denounce any set formula of values. The HB will be found to support choice no matter the consequence. Be it abortion, drugs, homosexuality, divorce, child rearing, schooling...
HB's mentality is based on a desire for government to stay out of their personal affairs birthed by people who want to be able to marry their first cousin, and also have the government stay out of their business birthed by people that want to make unmonitored money selling moonshine.
The "Hillbilly Belt" caters to those who have rejected Biblical morals, but don't want handouts from the government so that they can continue their behavior unmonitored by outsiders. This mindset produces a desire to be an isolationist and fosters issues with authority.
Contradictions abound because the HB is Fiscally conservative, while being Socially liberal. We might call them all Hillbilly ConservaLiberals. They are not red, they are not blue, it's more of a purple.

(b) There is no privilege under this article in a civil proceeding brought or defended by a married person for the immediate benefit of his spouse or of himself and his spouse.
When I parse your sentence, your great revelation falls apart. They were well aware they were told this? Of course they were. And who told them that? The same doctors who used the slipshod diagnostic procedure? And was that true at the time? We can't know. And is it still true today? Hopefully we'll find out.
I do not see anything standing in his way that keeps him from moving on. Give Terri to her parents and he can move on. Why must Terri cease to exist in this life for him to move on.?
The execution goes forward.
But what if they find out something different? The rush to kill will seem very unsettling indeed.
They aren't my great revelations. These are medical doctors revelations. LOL
That question is not ridiculous. The HINO's power to act is based on the sanctity of marriage. But when we peer behind that veil, we find the concubine and a couple of bastards running around.
"Sanctity?"
More like sanctimony.
Your post is the great revelation that failed.
Rush to kill? It's been at least five years, hasn't it?
Clever. But meaningless.
Um where does it say shacking up?
You mean the revelations of the specialist who said he helped people in worse situations that Terri's?
LOL! We do know now that the ultimate constitutional authority on all things resides in the hands of some Florida judge.
You want to change the subject. That's understandable.
Sorry pal, but we are driving the car now. Best take the bus.
