Dude my parent was a first generation immigrant and my parent told me that they were called derogatory names and were disliked. They ignored your ilk. They had their own papers in their language and they were derided becuase they read them.

Also, when watching Spanish television I see 1/2 hour infomercials pushing courses to learn English.

Damn right they were. But again, it didn't stop them from craving assimilation into American society. ....and because of that they were eventually accepted.

You should've checked out the U.S. vs. Mexico soccer game at the L.A. Coliseum in '98, where the vast majority of the 80,000+ in attendance were rooting for the "visiting" team. The American national anthem was booed mercilessly, and "urine bombs" rained down on both the U.S. players and those in the stands who were brave enough to actively root for the home team.

Needless to say, demographic annexation was (and is) more to their liking that (American) cultural assimilation.

Lets' just open the doors to everybody from everywhere...we will go from 300 million to a couple of billion in a decade or so and places like Haiti or Sierra Leone will be vacant but you will be happy because you have seen the destruction of the existing culture here which you despise.
