Playing the Hitler card now, are we?

Actually, Marlowe, you already played that card YOURSELF, albeit in a much more offensive manner, on this very thread just two days ago....

"Using that logic we could just as easily state that Lutheranism was responsible for the Holocaust"

I remember that part of the thread, Alex, and you seriously mischaracterize it....it was actually about John Wesley.

As expected you missed my point there and took it out of context.

Notice what I said: USING THAT LOGIC....

I was commenting on the logical fallacy that because a lot of the revolutionaries were Calvinist that therefore Calvinism caused the Revolution.

Pro hoc ergo proctor hoc.

The revolution came after the intoduction of Calvinism in the United States, therefore the revolution was caused by the introduction of Calvinism.

That is the premise of the article above. That was my point.

Ergo, "USING THAT LOGIC, we could just as easily state that Lutheranism was responsible for the Holocaust"

I did not even mention Hitler. I don't believe Hitler was even a Lutheran, however the holocaust did follow the introduction of Lutheranism into Germany didn't it?

BTW your post was deliberately inflammatory. Are you attempting to get this thread pulled?

I stand corrected. I brought up Wesley a few posts AFTER Marlowe.

That was the post where Marlowe was making "pro hoc procter & gamble" argument. His point was: Just because some nazis were Lutheran doesn't mean that Lutheranism supported the holocaust."

In other words, his point was the OPPOSITE of how you just characterized it.
