Perhaps rather than getting snippy about it and slinging a personal insult, you could just show ctd why he's wrong about you believing 7,8 and 9. Those seem to be the points in contention.
I wouldn't necessarily make the claim he did. But I think he sincerely has reason to believe you fit in that category.
If he's wrong, you've no reason to be defensive.
