Jurors turn focus to Scott Peterson's fishing boat
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. Jurors in Scott Peterson's capital murder trial want to see the boat the fertilizer salesman allegedly used to dump his wife's body in the San Francisco Bay, according to two sources close to the case.
The panel wrote a note to Judge Alfred Delucchi Friday requesting an inspection of the 14-foot aluminum Gamefisher Peterson took out on the bay Dec. 24, 2002, the day he reported his wife, Laci, missing.
The sources confirmed to Court TV that the boat will be brought to the courthouse and jurors will see it Monday.
The request to see the boat came as the panel completed a third day of deliberations without reaching a verdict. The six men and six women have weighed evidence for nearly 19 hours. They will spend the weekend sequestered at a hotel, but they are not permitted to discuss the case until they return to the jury room at about 8 a.m. Monday.
Story continues ........
Thanks for the ping.
Good grief...you following this, Ella?
Yes, it would be.
And if they get a new juror, they have to start deliberating all over again!
The exhibits they asked for were real "meat" stuff Jackie. Tidal searches on the computer, wiretaps with Amber etc., boat cover, and a number of other really relevant things. The list is on WS. It's good stuff. I'm believing they will make it. Remember last week I predicted Wednesday, maybe they will surprise me and come back today.
lol Admit, you're hooked!
One day in our fascinating parlor and it's impossible for you to move on. We're addictive, aren't we???? ;-)
...And the judge is putting on quite a show, just to herald your arrival.
Pinz
Is it true that Judge Napolitano was a child actor?
Thanks for the ping. Getting Dish Satellite installed right now, so can't watch tv!!
If this is true, that juror should be charged and jailed for tampering with a trial.
God, I'm sick of Scott Peterson.
I'm actually starting to miss Tonya Harding. Things were so much more simple back then. LOL!
They WILL retry if this thing doesn't go to verdict this time around.
That's my prognostication.
Speaking of trials, Miz. We have 1001 reasons to rejoice that President Bush was re-elected and on that list are those interesting investigations proceeding. You just know a (shudder) Kerry DOJ would have turned that Plame gj back on the Republicans, if possible, and the CIA re-organization would have been right back to Clinton era liberal faction reigning supreme again.
Let's hope some indictments crop up soon.
Back on subject, Greta on Fox now reporting what we've heard, "possible juror problem".
Hysterical!
Your scenario is possible too. After all there was one life jacket missing. He could have cut it off at the chosen spot.
He sure has spent alot of time on this thread......
(curtsy)
It is PROBABLY #6!! Justin's pal. It has annoyed the heck out of me that Judge Delucchi didn't take the warnings about this Juror at the very end of the trial SERIOUSLY!!
It turns out he's still not dead.
LOL
But they promise us soon.
We'll wait. :-)
WHY WOULDN'T THEY JUST REMOVE THE OFFENDING JUROR??? There are alternates!!!!
Well I've had Rush on (My word, you have to hear Carole Simpson speaking at some media thingy saying how the states that voted for Bush are the slave states) and I wouldn't know about this trial update except for the ping. Now I have tv AND radio on.
Tune to #204 when you're up and running.
#204 = CourtTV.
Count on it!! Peterson will be retried!!! I don't see why they can't just remove the offending juror. Of course, they would need to start deliberations all over again but I'm still of the opinion that they can avoid a mistrial. It'll be up to the Judge.
