Jurors turn focus to Scott Peterson's fishing boat
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. Jurors in Scott Peterson's capital murder trial want to see the boat the fertilizer salesman allegedly used to dump his wife's body in the San Francisco Bay, according to two sources close to the case.
The panel wrote a note to Judge Alfred Delucchi Friday requesting an inspection of the 14-foot aluminum Gamefisher Peterson took out on the bay Dec. 24, 2002, the day he reported his wife, Laci, missing.
The sources confirmed to Court TV that the boat will be brought to the courthouse and jurors will see it Monday.
The request to see the boat came as the panel completed a third day of deliberations without reaching a verdict. The six men and six women have weighed evidence for nearly 19 hours. They will spend the weekend sequestered at a hotel, but they are not permitted to discuss the case until they return to the jury room at about 8 a.m. Monday.
Story continues ........
Really? Your the only one sounding worked up here.
Possible mistrial??? Juror may have been doing its own "research?"
now RB don't spend your whole weekend looking in the water for anchors ok ? You have spent so much time on this it will be like going back to the old neighborhood .....This latest delay IMO is a juror has an opinion and wont try to rationalize it for the others, in other words a stubborn b@stard !!!! I bet there are a lot of people who won't change their minds as a matter of pride (just ask their mates ).
I changed the channel when Falconer came on. Won't listen to that confirmed IDIOT!!
So now what? Can he be tried again?
Thanks for the ping--last night, some commentators on Fox were saying it could be a mistrial for that reason. Sounds serious. But if I were Geragos, I wouldn't celebrate yet--they could still decide to retry, except woops, the Petersons might be out of money.
Surely, I think he could be. If not, couldn't one juror in every panel get a guilty defendant off by acting up? That can't be the case, can it?
Possible juror dismissal.
hi Co, if it's a mistrial there is only one winner....the US government will collect it's share of money wasted over this whole circus of grief in taxes and will do it all over again. CTV hasn't said anything yet about what's going on.
I can't believe this.
Wouldn't it be something if the Juror was in communication with Falconer?
sw
Not sure what is going on, but Vinnie just said that they are in chambers because of a "juror issue."
Jury eating in courtroom; reporters outside. CTV has it live.
If there IS a mistrial, will there be a court-appointed lawyer in Scott's future?
Added to all that you said RG Laci's scent came to a dead end at the end of the pier!! And according the Berkley Harbor master, it is EASILY POSSIBLE to dump a body with weights from THAT boat. It is simply layed out on the bow, the driver motors to his "spot" and simply pushes his cargo off!! I am ASTOUNDED that people are thinking this guy stood up with his wife in his arms and weights attached and threw her overboard. NO WAY, he figured a much simpler method. This was PLANNED, WELL PLANNED!!
Well, it is true that I am tired of hearing about it.
He all but admitted he "knew" another juror when discussing how the others were thinking when he was on LKL last night.......you could be right
We'll keep an eagle eye on rb so that she doesn't add you to the ping list in that case. lol
Thanks for dropping by today. We'll look for you on the political threads.
Pinz
I would imagine they are; and Scotty would stay in jail while they scraped up more $$$ for him.
Whatever it is, I pray that that Falconer is involved; I'd like to see HIM in jail.
Arafat is dead? I'll bet it's hot where he is!!
Could we get that lucky? ;)
