Here's what Asa Hutchinson SHOULD have said to that KFI howler monkey:

"First and foremost, we will employ any Law Enforcement Technique at our disposal at the time and place where it is effective, legally justified, and minimally disruptive to the Constitutional rights and peaceful well-being of the larger community."

"For the record, the enforcement sweeps and arrests we undertook early this month were planned, authorized and executed even absent the notification or approval of any Los Angeles area AM disc jockeys. All future enforcement actions and strategies will be similarly undertaken without the authorization of AM Radio Disc Jockeys. We, in turn, will not ask to be included in any wacky pranks, Auto Show Remotes or Clever Stunts planned by AM Radio Disc Jockeys."

"Our June sweeps were well planned and authorized under legal authority with actionable intelligence. We have no legal authority to detain, unreasonably search any individual or forcibly enter any domicile at random or based on a targeted ethnicity or geographic location. California has over 13 million citizens of Mexican or other Hispanic heritage and we will not subject those American citizens to special scrutiny and disruption by Federal Agents based on their look, living arrangements or neighborhood."

"Our Enforcement actions are ongoing, they are taken with all care to the rights and privacy of citizens, they will be done in accordance with the law and they will not be subject to the publicity stunts of AM Radio Disc Jockeys. Thanks for taking time out from your Countdown, Mr. Kasem."

My best guess is that Asa didn't say anything like what you wrote here, because every Conservative in the listening audience would have known them for the deliberate attempt to obfuscate the truth that they were almost before they had passed his lips.

Not that what Asa said didn't sound ridiculous, but how does telling more and even bigger lies help Bush's re-election chances?

I think you mean well, but this is a case of the fish stinking from the head.
I wouldn't be upset if Asa Hutchinson resigned because he couldn't even tell John that he will allow the border patrol to "ever again" enact a sweep. This was not a top secret question with times and places mentioned.

Asa was a total hack and refused to answer the most general question, which means he is bending over for the Mexican government and activists for illegals.
These two KFI guys are only talking about what most Californians are pissed off about.
This isn't about Asa Hutchinson needing to act like he had a pair of nuts with the KFI staff, it is about him having a pair in real life and doing his job in rounding up illegals or at least TRYING to and removing them.
We should not let another country have influence our immigration policy as Mexico and illegal aliens and activists have.
The illegals need to know fear of breaking the law and if Asa Hutchinson refuses to make that happen, that is wrong.
When his stops the border patrol to stop sweeps. that is pathetic.
