hi lovely sistahs! Snuck home early to finish up tomorrow's thread...a HUGE thunderstorm blew in...(We lost our modem once so wasn't taking any chances and shut down the computer and grabbed some catch up reading material). So...I'm in the study with Giz shivering on my lap...trying to appear cool, Codee deaf and oblivous on her "wooby", Fred, not deaf but oblivous, on the couch....Rush "crackling on the radio in the background" and suddenly there is a crash and sparks coming from our study patio door!... I don't know who jumped first! It was a definate Kodak moment. All appears okay at home...am just a little behind now. Hate being home and computer impaired but better safe than sorry....especially after hearing Dansy's harrowing experience!

I like grilled chicken - but only the white meat. :) Don't even need barbeque
sauce - just grilled, over fetuccini with alfredo sauce, please. :) Sure, I'll whip that up and have it ready in no time at all!
Remember him ??? . . .

Dear Lady:
Thank you for posting that moving email. The media chooses to focus on the post-war problems in Iraq but reports very little about all the good changes our brave decent military has brought to that country.

God Bless Our Military
Thank You all for your constant support of the Military. Thank You for Military Monday, Billie. Thank You, LadyX for posting this heart touching letter, reading the words of someone that is living the experience that I only read about in the daily paper and online and see on the TV touches my heart deeply. I have received a letter from Alex, a family friend. The following sentences in the letter you have posted and the letter I received are so similar:
"In March, when we first crossed the border, I was unsure if our mission was justified. I had heard the stories of the poverty, the torture, and the genocide. After my experiences with the people in and around Baghdad, I know that my cause was just."
My Prayers are with the Military, Thank You to each and every one of them.

Billie, love the graphic of the pups. Absolutely adorable, and Wolfie hanging with the Rottweilers is so cute. Yep, our pets are sure glad that the fireworks are over with. As pretty as they are, just too noisy for the pups! My Holiday was wonderful. Hope you all enjoyed yours.

They were funny - can't imagine anyone in this whole world could ever be as 'dumb' as Jethro! Hold on folks !! We have Breaking News !! . . .
Jethro Bodine To Head Blue Ribbon Commission Jethro
Washington -- President Bush announced today that his long time friend, Jethro Bodine, will head up the 9/11 "Blue Ribbon" Commission to investigate events leading up to the 9/11 intelligence failure. "Mr. Bodine is one of the few experts in our nation that has the skills needed to 'cipher' all of the complex events that led up to the 9/11 disaster." said Mr. Bush. Later in the day Jed Clampett, Jethro's former guardian, stated: "I must admit that I was surprised when I heard the news. George and Jethro have always been the best of buds. They just love it when the San Diego Chicken comes a callin'. And lord knows, I really do love those two knuckleheads, but if brains was lard, neither one these boys could grease a pan. If n' ya knows whats I mean." |

Proud to honor our active duty military
and our verterans!
Good afternoon, Finest ladies. I'm late, but finally here.
Pippin, thank you for your heartfelt post on the 4th of July. You sure did put your red, white and blue patriotic heart into that! :-)
LadyX, I received your e-mail with the link to the bear website, thank you so much for thinking of me. I am so far behind on my e-mail and thread replies! Oh, and thank you too, for everything you bring to the Finest thread. You never fail to inspire.
Now, I am going to go back and review Billie's beautiful weekend thread and try to catch up with all my pings. Sistah hugs to you all!

You're so good at writing these Kodak moments! Sparks from your patio door! That would scare me to death! Do you know where the lightning hit?

The Free Republic 3rd quarter FReepathon is underway!
Howdy everyone. Time to get rolling again on raising the funds necessary to keep FR on the air. We've accomplished quite a bit in the last few years on FR, but there is much more work to be done. FReeper activism was an important factor in Clinton's impeachment effort as well as helping to block Al Gore's attempted theft of the White House. And more recently, FReepers organized and supported hundreds of rallies in cities all across the nation countering the peaceniks and rallying public support for our President and our troops. I thank God that George W. Bush was our President on 9/11 instead of Al Gore! And I thank God for the tens of thousands of patriotic FReepers who worked so hard to help make that happen!
The next 18 months or so are going to be supercritical in our continued fight against liberalism. The liberals will be attempting to retake control of our government and they will no doubt pull out all stops in regards to corruption in fundraising, campaigning and electioneering. And we still have the Clintons and their followers waiting in the wings. Even though President Bush enjoys high popularity ratings, anything can happen.
We must double and redouble our efforts to block the liberals and win a landslide election for Bush and the Republicans. If we give Bush and the Republicans a conservative mandate and a filibuster proof Senate then we will have an historic opportunity of appointing and approving a conservative court and a possibility of overturning decades of liberal activist rulings!
It's time to get this show on the road! I'm urging a nationwide FReeper drive to register voters and get out the conservative vote. This is not an election where we can afford to stay home or sit on our hands or register protest votes. Every conservative vote is critical!
And, as always, we must remain diligent. FReepers gathering and disseminating relevant news items, exposing and refuting liberal lies, propaganda and corruption coupled with our nationwide rallies and protests and activism are making a difference.
Looking forward to an exciting election cycle and many years of conservative successes to follow.
Thanks very much for your continuing participation and support!
FReegards,
Jim Robinson

Hi, Julie - funny how we can all read letters like the one Maggie posted, and the first thing that comes to our minds is that we don't normally read this kind of stuff in our newspapers or hear stories like this on TV.

Thank you, Colleen, for your daily support - of the Finest and of course the Military. I think we're all in agreement that the letter LadyX posted made quite an impact on the readership today.
