Accusations of sexual impropriety can't emerge if you refuse to ever put yourself in a position that would allow such things to be possible The liberal left is appalled. A paragraph in a Washington Post article about Vice President Mike Pence’s wife, Karen, revealed, “In 2002, Mike Pence told the Hill that he never eats alone with a woman other than his wife and that he won’t attend events featuring alcohol without her by his side, either.”

A few days before the Women's March in January, congressional candidate Wendy Carrillo was getting friends together to head to the protest in her hometown of Los Angeles. Then she got a phone call that would change her life. The organizers wanted her to speak in Washington in front of a massive crowd, in one of the biggest protests in U.S. history. The opportunity gave her an unprecedented platform: She would be the only political candidate to speak at the Women's March in Washington. Now she's the first person running for national office to receive the outspoken support of the...

Washington will swallow your soul if you let it. It’s a place where many moral compasses go to die. So maybe it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Vice President of the United States is ridiculed when it’s reported that he’s spent his time in office choosing to live his life differently from the D.C. status quo. Since a Washington Post profile of Karen Pence, the vice president’s wife, appeared last week, critics have obsessed over a single line, which reported that, as of 2002, the vice president doesn’t dine alone with women other than his wife. At the...

IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say they’ve uncovered a massive international sex trafficking ring in Southern California. Prosecutors announced the arrest of four people connected to the Orange County-based enterprise that allegedly placed thousands of ads for sexual services in 29 states over the past two years. The ring was based locally in Irvine, officials said. Women and girls from China were forced to sell themselves for sex and sometimes forced to work 14 hours a day in homes purchased specifically for the purposes of prostitution, according to authorities. Investigators tracked the ring through thousands of ads selling sex on Backpage.com....

This isn’t the Home and Garden Network — this is your life. Funnywoman Tina Fey called out white women who voted for Donald Trump, urging them to not look away just because some of the current political issues don’t immediately affect them. “A lot of this election was turned by white, college-educated women who now would maybe like to forget about this election and go back to watching HGTV,” Fey said during the “Stand for Rights: A Benefit for the ACLU” on Friday night. “I would want to urge them to like, ‘You can’t look away’ because it doesn’t affect...

An investigation by The New York Times has found a total of five women who have received payouts from either Mr. O’Reilly or the company in exchange for agreeing to not pursue litigation or speak about their accusations against him. The agreements totaled about $13 million. Two settlements came after the network’s former chairman, Roger Ailes, was dismissed last summer in the wake of a sexual harassment scandal, when the company said it did not tolerate behavior that “disrespects women or contributes to an uncomfortable work environment.”

First Lady Melania Trump handed out awards at the 2017 International Women of Courage awards ceremony on Wednesday at the U.S. Department of State, where she was introduced as a campaigner for the safety and security of women and girls around the world. “The era of allowing brutality against women and children is over,” Trump said to the large crowd of guests gathered to honor 13 women who faced horrific challenges in their lives but persisted to become activists to help others facing a similar plight. “Each one of these heroic women has an extraordinary story of courage, which should...

Another day, another anti-Israel resolution at the United Nations — this one dressed up in the faux trappings of an assist to Palestinian women. What this resolution really amounts to is one more reason for America to stop funding the UN. Lest that sound overwrought, let’s peer into the UN boudoir whence came this resolution, which passed by a wide margin last week under the anodyne and oh-so-UN title: “Situation of and Assistance to Palestinian Women.” Sounds reasonable, perhaps?

A convicted Palestinian terrorist and a key figure of the recent Women’s March will be deported from the United States after accepting a plea bargain that allows her to escape a prison sentence.Rasmea Odeh will be stripped of her U.S citizenship and forced to leave the country and return to Jordan after failing to disclose to immigration authorities that she had been imprisoned in Israel for committing two terror attacks. As part of her plea bargain, however, Odeh won’t have to spend time in U.S prison or detention, according to a statement on Thursday by the Rasmea Defense Committee. The terrorist-turned-activist rose to prominence in...

Here's a sobering little fact for you: We are more than 60 days, two Muslim bans, and one Kellyanne Conway "commercial" into the Trump administration, and we still have no idea what Ivanka Trump's job is. She is not, she says, the first lady of the United States; "there's one first lady, and Melania will be an unbelievable first lady," she told ABC News. She is not actively running her eponymous lifestyle and jewelry brands, nor is she working for the Trump Organization, having taken a "formal leave of absence" in January. Finally—and perhaps most importantly—she is not a formal...

By doing the things that coach Kim Mulkey had been emphasizing since a rare Big 12 Tournament loss, the Baylor Lady Bears opened the women' NCAA Tournament with an overwhelming record-setting performance. It also helped that the Lady Bears, with three post players at least 6-foot-4, were much bigger than NCAA first-timer Texas Southern.

The bishops saw them not as people but living sins who must be severely punished and the State facilitated that torture Catherine Corless at the boarded up site at Tuam Mothers and Babies home where there is now verified evidence of remains of a significant number of babies and young children being buried. (Photo: Ray Ryan) The horrors of the Tuam cesspit cast a long shadow over any International Women's Day celebrations. And the Taoiseach added to the gloom by appearing to defend the nuns who may have dumped the bodies of up to 800 children in a disused sewer....

The way to help women continue to move forward isn’t to propagate the myth that women in the United States are victims, oppressed by the system and unable to help themselves secure a better future.Yet that’s exactly the message of the “A Day Without a Woman†strike happening Wednesday.Various organizers, including the Women’s March crowd and other feminists, are pushing women to “take the day off, from paid and unpaid labor,” as well as by not shopping (except at “small, women- and minority-owned businesses”) and by wearing red.An op-ed advocating the strike published in The Guardian last month by eight...

It may seem like a stretch of the imagination, but I’m going to lay out step by step how the “Day Without Women” marches taking place across the world (and especially in the US), are the first decisive steps in a plan to achieve Mussolini’s dream of “Tutto nello Stato, niente al di fuori dello Stato, nulla contro lo Stato” (“everything for the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state”). The people involved in the Marches don’t know about it, they are “useful idiots”, but the face behind the curtain knows full well each of the next steps,...

Trend analysts have dubbed what they interpret as a new wave of feminism the "pluri-empowerment" factor, says Iza Dezon, a trend forecaster at Peclers Paris. "An empowered woman is no longer subject to a specific definition, nor must she live by a specific set of values," she explains. "We're seeing the opening up of what empowerment means, allowing women to create their own definitions." The modest movement has been gaining steam for a few years now and the hijab has become a recognized symbol. In 2014 DKNY launched a bespoke modest fashion collection. In 2016, Dolce & Gabbana released a...
