Mark Margavage said he’s had enough of “polished politics.” Margavage, an Edwardsville resident, said he believes Republican Donald Trump is a better presidential candidate than Democrat Hillary Clinton, regardless of the sexually charged comments Trump was recorded as saying about women in 2005. Margavage said many men make similar comments about women. And he’s not alone in his support for Trump. In an informal Times Leader poll Saturday on Facebook, an overwhelming majority of Trump backers said they still plan to vote for him despite his lewd comments 11 years ago. The poll had reached nearly 7,000 readers over the...

He was, Port Jervis police Chief William Worden and Mayor Kelly Decker said Monday at a press conference to announce an arrest in his slaying, a fixture in the community, a good man. A man was walking at 1:20 am, Sunday morning, when he was confronted by two black males, one of which pointed a gun at him. From timesleader.com: “What do you got for me?” one man said to the victim. He told police he grabbed his attacker’s gun with one hand and drew his own firearm. The man does not have a concealed firearms permit, but carries his gun under Pennsylvania’s open carry laws, police said. The robbers fled. On a dark street, the tactical deterrence offered by open carry may not be as effective, essentially making open carry the equivalent...

Bitter Small Town Democrats hand Obama 75-25 Loss in Northeast Pennsylvania We enjoyed watching Barack Obama lose the Pennsylvania primary 55-45, noting especially that Pennsylvania is a Blue State whose electoral votes will be decisive in the November election. The Democratic superdelegates would be well advised to note that Obama lost despite spending three dollars for every dollar that Clinton spent, thus underscoring the fact that most voters can recognize a phony smile on top of an empty suit when they see one. Obama’s camp claims, despite its catastrophic defeat, that Hillary Clinton is still behind in delegates and therefore...
