A seventeen year old boy in Memphis faced a nightmare while he was working a shift at Kroger.  A mob was attacking people in the parking lot.  This thin teenager tried to run but was caught and pummeled into unconsciousness, then viciously kicked and beaten as he lay helpless.  As is the custom these dark days, bystanders caught it on video, which was posted to the Internet and picked up by local television. Since Barack Obama was elected president, only 10 percent of Americans believe that race relations have gotten better, according to a New York Times/CBS Poll published today. The poll found 17 percent of blacks and 8 percent of whites believe race relations have improved under Obama. Thirty five percent of Americans believe that race relations have gotten worse in the Obama era -- including 40 percent of whites and 21 percent of blacks. Fifty-two percent of Americans polled said that race relations have stayed about the same.

Neighbors of the couple who ambushed two police officers Sunday in Las Vegas told local newspapers the pair had bragged about spending time at Cliven Bundy’s ranch during the standoff with the federal government earlier this year.
