Officers have arrested a man after he was found unconscious in a Huntington Walmart with a young child Wednesday. Troopers responded the Walmart on U.S. Route 60 in Huntington on the evening of February 1st, 2017, where they discovered Nathan Ferguson had passed out in the electronics section of the store. Ferguson had a 1-year-old child with him when he passed out.

A handwritten note from President Trump to West Virginia Senator Shelly Moore Capito is generating a lot of buzz, especially on social media. Capito wrote asking for support on the Miner's Protection Act, stalled in Congress. The President wrote back, saying: "Shelley: Great I am all for the miners." An inmate at the Mount Olive Correctional Complex was killed Sunday evening after an apparent assault by one or more fellow inmates. Eugene Robert Anderson, 66, was fatally injured around 6 p.m. Sunday in an outdoor recreation area.

The Milton Police Department, along with help from Barboursville Police, WV State Police, and the WV DNR has arrested a man after a wild police chase. According to a release, Milton Police asked to speak to Justin Brafford at a Marathon gas station. Instead of speaking with officers, Brafford sped off westbound on U.S. Route 60 in his pickup truck.

FAIRMONT, WV - A Fairmont man was arrested Tuesday on sexual abuse charges after police said he told them a 7-year-old girl wanted to have sex with him. Brandon Coe, 20, sexually assaulted a 7-year-old, female relative, according to the West Virginia State Police Crimes Against Children Unit. Police said the girl told family members in November that she was assaulted by Coe in October.

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (AP) - Frustrated with the prostitutes who he says walk in front of his home day and night, a West Virginia man has put up signs urging them to take their business elsewhere. Jeffery Blankenship tells the Bluefield Daily Telegraph that prostitutes walk along his street at all hours, seeking clients. Three weeks ago, he began putting up anti-trespassing signs outside his Bluefield home, including one that reads, "Attention prostitutes ... Do not walk by this house 1000x a day waving your hand."

Pamela Ramsey Taylor, an employee of the Clay Development Corporation, referred to the first lady as an “ape in heels,” in a Facebook post. JACKSON COUNTY, WV - UPDATE (10/12/16 11:00 AM): A Jackson County judge has found probable cause against suspect Benjamin Taylor for both 1st-degree murder and 1st-degree sexual assault of 10-month-old Emmaleigh Barringer. Three witnesses took the stand Wednesday morning in an hour-and-a-half court proceeding: Emmaleigh's mother Amanda Adkins, one of the first deputy sheriffs on scene of the violent attack, and the chief medical examiner who performed Emmaleigh's autopsy. PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - An Episcopal priest accused of molesting children at an elite Rhode Island boarding school and elsewhere has been removed from the priesthood. The Episcopal Diocese of Central Pennsylvania announced Monday that it had defrocked the Rev. Howard White. The diocese says White accepted his removal but didn't admit guilt. White didn't immediately return a message seeking comment Tuesday. The move came after an investigation into widespread abuse at St. George's School in Middletown, Rhode Island, found White abused children there in the 1970s before being fired. He went on to teach in other private schools.

Benjamin Taylor, 32, has been arrested and is being held on a $2 million bail in Southern Regional Jail, West Virginia. Harrison County, WV - A Harrison County woman and her boyfriend were arrested after deputies said they choked a young child in July. Brandon Ford, 27, of West Union, is charged with child abuse resulting in injury, strangulation, and conspiracy to inflict injuries to person or property. Ford's girlfriend, Shelby Chipps, 22, of Salem, has been arrested on the same three felony charges. The child was taken to the United Hospital Center's emergency room on July 7, according to the Harrison County Sheriff's Department. RIPLEY, WV (WCHS/WVAH) — Jackson County Sheriff Tony Boggs said a 9-month-old baby girl who was sexually assaulted by a man has died from her injuries. The baby had been in critical condition at Charleston Area Medical Center General Hospital, where the child was being treated for trauma to her lower extremities and bruising to her face and head. Jackson County deputies called it the worst case of sexual assault they have seen in two decades.
