Her book discusses the experience of soldiers during wartime, and it also has a chapter on abortion. She recounts hearing about one abortionist’s bizarre behavior, which she attributes to work-related stress. In a telephone conversation, a woman who worked for a doctor in Louisiana for a few months recounted an incident: “The one thing that sticks out in my mind the most, that really upset me the most, was that he had done an abortion, he had a fetus wrapped inside of...

The director of nursing at one abortion clinic describes how, every once in a while, a woman coming in for an abortion will ask for her aborted baby to be baptized. … When it’s a big fetus, you will hear them asking a lot of questions: “is it a boy or is it a girl?”, “Will it be baptized?” We’ve had many requests for that too. We do it, it doesn’t mean a thing. But if it rests somebody’s peace of mind, you baptize a fetus. I mean for the psychological effect. It’s not recognized by the church, how can...

This frightening picture of two brothers with their hair on end was snapped just minutes before they were struck by lightning at Moro Rock, California, leaving the younger boy with third-degree burns and another man dead. Oh sure, Mayor Bill de Blasio—aka Mayor de Blaze-io (GET IT)—probably doesn't smoke marijuana anymore, regardless of what certain people want you to believe. But he definitely used to, and he doesn't mind you knowing that—he slyly sent out this tweet on Thursday as reports of his past pot use once again made "news." To put this all in context for you, let's count down the 10 best young BDB photos and wildly speculate on what corresponding drugs he might have been taking at the time.

Now Sam McGee was from Tennessee, where the cotton blooms and blows. Why he left his home in the South to roam 'round the Pole, God only knows. He was always cold, but the land of gold seemed to hold him like a spell; Though he'd often say in his homely way that "he'd sooner live in hell." On a Christmas Day we were mushing our way over the Dawson trail. Talk of your cold! through the parka's fold it stabbed like a driven nail.
