Do something politically incorrect, for example, exploit a goldfish by owning it, and the authoritarian moonbats running San Francisco will come down on you hard. Yet they seem to be helpless against their fellow kooks: While authorities are trying to keep track of a San Francisco woman who was breeding rats in her room at a residential hotel and releasing them in public parks, they say their hands are tied as far as trying to stop her. …KTVU on Thursday obtained video shot in April of 2011 of a room in a Minna Street SRO hotel packed with piles of...

The woman at the center of the Donald Sterling racism scandal, the ex-Los Angeles Clippers owner’s gal pal V Stiviano, was badly beaten up by two white men in New York City on Sunday night, her lawyer has confirmed exclusively to RadarOnline. Around 7pm, as Stiviano was leaving the Gansevoort Hotel in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, “two white men descended on her,” attorney Mac Nehorary said. “They were about 5’7 and they knew exactly who she was. They began to hit her and called her the N word. “Other disgusting slurs were made against her. She was able to run away...

After making a small fortune out of being wrong over predictions of doom because of overpopulation, Stanford University Professor Paul Ehrlich is embracing the lunatic fringe of environmentalism, perhaps noting that Al Gore has made a large fortune out of another wacko doomsday cult. Sean Long of Newsbusters reports: Ehrlich, a Stanford University biologist famous for his widely debunked book “The Population Bomb,” doubled down on his climate change and overpopulation fear-mongering with HuffPost Live on May 21.

Skinner has created a new website, discussionist.com, that is supposed to be open to all, unlike DU. Civility, or the lack thereof, is the criterion for hiding a post, not political position. I just joined up so I don't know about the criterion for banning, if any. At any rate, I hadn't been on for 30 seconds before I was invited to join a jury. I voted to left the post stay, but was outvoted 5-2. Anyway, when you're caught up on the discussions here, maybe you might like to introduce some logic and facts into the discussions over there....

Monica Lewinsky’s ‘Vanity Fair’ article reluctantly plunges us straight back into the frothing world of ‘90s gossip. It may be painful but it answers so many questions about today’s media. The Monica Lewinsky confessional in Vanity Fair brings back a torrent of unfond memories of the appalling cast of tabloid gargoyles who drove the scandal. Remember them? Treacherous thatched-roof-haired drag-queen Linda Tripp, with those dress-for-success shoulder pads? Cackling, fact-lacking hack Lucianne Goldberg, mealy-mouthed Pharisee Kenneth Starr—the whole buzzing swarm of legal, congressional and gossip industry flesh flies, feasting on the entrails. And, of course, hitting “send” on each new...

Tal. Hey bro. I want to talk to you for a minute. I read your article, ‘Why I’ll Never Apologize For My White Male Privilege’. First off, congrats on landing an article on Time. That’s huge. And I get it, dude. You’re annoyed with the ‘check your privilege’ line. Hey, I am too. I think it’s overused, and it’s basically turned into a meme at this point. I read your piece. You’re Jewish. Your family, or at least your family a couple generations ago, had it pretty damn rough. And your dad worked his ass off so that you could...

According to wiki, Gaslighting is defined as: Gaslighting is a form of mental abuse in which false information is presented with the intent of making a victim doubt his or her own memory, perception and sanity. Instances may range simply from the denial by an abuser that previous abusive incidents ever occurred, up to the staging of bizarre events by the abuser with the intention of disorienting the victim. How does this relate to Benghazi and the Media Coverage of it and what the White house released concerning it? Well let's break this down a bit shall we: "false information...

Media Matters employees are furious that their bosses are trying to keep them from unionizing. A union-organizing committee at the liberal group released a statement Monday slamming their employers for “the unexpected and unexplained path our leadership has taken in response to our efforts to unionize,” adding that “the actions of Media Matters executives have placed employees in the impossible position of continuing to produce content espousing pro-labor values for an employer who is challenging our right to unionize.”

This sure appears to say that the bimbo V. Stiviano by recording Sterling committed a crime: “California's wiretapping law is a “two-party consent†law. California makes it a crime to record or eavesdrop on any confidential communication, including a private conversation or telephone call, without the consent of all parties to the conversation. See Cal. Penal Code § 632. The statute applies to “confidential communications†— i.e., conversations in which one of the parties has an objectively reasonable expectation that no one is listening in or overhearing the conversation. See Flanagan v. Flanagan, 41 P.3d 575, 576-77, 578-82 (Cal. 2002)....

NBC’s David Gregory pressed Tony Blair over the resurgence of Islamic fundamentalism worldwide, arguing that perhaps the former British prime minister’s support for the Iraq War bolstered Islamic terrorism — a charge Blair vehemently denied. Blair appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday to advocate for a stronger Western response to the burgeoning threat of Islamic fundamentalism in places like Syria, Yemen, Iraq and North Africa. But Gregory pushed back. ”Isn’t the legacy of your leadership, and that of President Bush, in part responsible for the reality today?” he asked, noting that many in both the United States and Britain...

“Ken? Ken! Wake the hell up! Meet me at the station.” I sat up in bed, and realized it was not my bed. Words like this are why Ken Seeroi does not answer his iPhone after 11 p.m. The dreaded Yoko was on the line, and I was in her bed. Well, at least she had a bed, and not a horrible futon like I do. Either way, I really gotta remember to turn off that ringer. “Ah baby, I’m kind of asleep,” I mumbled, “and it’s pouring down rain.” “I forgot my umbrella,” she said. “Bring me one. “Yeah,...
