We're getting so tired of having to repeat this but why don't more Hollywood geniuses look up what happened to the successful career of the Dixie Chicks after the went overseas and bashed then-President Bush overseas, thinking their words would never get back to meet them? Arrogance, narcissism, what is it that makes these overpaid, so-called celebrities continue this stupid practice to this day? While promoting her new movie "Mother" and lamenting the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Jennifer Lawrence went off script and revealed to the British audience her genius.

At least five people died in a historically massive earthquake that struck the southern coast of Mexico early Friday, toppling hotels and houses and prompting tsunami waves and power outages. The United States Geological Survey said that a magnitude 8.1 quake hit about 73 miles off Tres Picos, Mexico, along Mexico's southern coast. Its epicenter was 102 miles west of Tapachula in southern Chiapas state and had a depth of about 21 miles. The quake was so powerful, it sent people fleeing from buildings 650 miles away in Mexico City.

Was Hurricane Harvey, the Mother of All Hurricanes, weaponized by man-made, rapid evaporation techniques of global weather manipulators to decimate the densely populated Houston region of Texas? Mike Adams, Health Ranger, is asking that very question and is directing his viewers to satellite imagery of Harvey, a hurricane which refueled three times and stayed in a holding pattern over the Houston-Rockport area instead of moving inland to disperse naturally. As seen from outer space, the deep black center reveals an ominous circulating and rotating in place. On Saturday and Sunday (8-26, 8-27, 2017), this long lasting weather event increased both...

Sept. 5 (UPI) -- President Donald Trump on Tuesday declared a federal emergency for Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, which are potentially in the path of Hurricane Irma, the White House said. Earlier in the day, Florida Gov. Rick Scott asked Trump to make the declaration, which would make federal funds available as the areas prepare for the potentially destructive storm. Irma strengthened into a Category 5 hurricane Tuesday....

I am trying this again, phase 2. Governor Abbot said to give to a specific Texas charity, what are the overhead rates. Funny how with a quick search I could not find that website, but I have confidence Freepers will provide. I want the most bang for my buck. So far Samaritans Purse seems to be leading.

Does Hurricane Harvey prove the man-made Global Warming threat? Yes - Human activity is to blame for the destruction No - Harvey was the first Category 3+ hurricane to reach the U.S. in almost 12 years I'm not sure

The floodwaters from Hurricane Harvey have yet to recede in Texas and Louisiana, but weather forecasters are already warily eyeing another storm that is rapidly intensifying in the tropical Atlantic Ocean — and could threaten the U.S. next week. Hurricane Irma, which was upgraded to a Category 3 storm on Thursday afternoon — and is likely to become a high-end Category 4 or 5 beast of a storm — is moving west over the open ocean about 840 miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands. On its current track, Irma is forecast to begin affecting the Leeward Islands on Tuesday,...

The social media manager of Charitable Humans didn’t sound particularly giving in a series of despicable tweets directed toward Texas yesterday. This isn’t the only nasty-spirited tweet by the organization, which describes itself as a “progressive tax-exempt nonprofit organization seeking new and innovative approaches to address issues in our world and advance humanitarian causes.†Someone grabbed a screenshot of the other shocking tweets, too.Psst: I’d just like to point out to the misguided tweeter that Hillary Clinton actually carried the election in Houston with 707,914 votes to Trump’s 545,955 votes. To be fair, we're not just picking on CNN. Almost all of the media have people on the ground (in the water) and are asking Texas residents who've just lost everything rather stupid questions. It was only a matter of time before a flood victim, witnessing the insensitive rush for ratings, had enough.

The devastating events through Houston and other parts of Texas have shown us not only the destructive power of hurricanes, but also, surprisingly, what we as humans really can be. In a world too often jaded by idiocy and recrimination, it is often a shock to realize how moved we can be by the plight of others. Pictures are coming out showing folk carrying their pets through the waters; some over the shoulders and some in their arms, and each one is more moving than the last.

My wife and I moved to Houston in June, 2004, at the insistence of the company I worked for at the time. For 18 years prior to that, we had lived and raised our children in Arlington, home of the Texas Rangers and, more recently, the Dallas Cowboys. We moved back to North Texas a year ago in order to be closer to our kids and grand kids, but during our dozen years in Houston, we developed a great and abiding love for that great city, which is now undergoing its worst flood event in modern times thanks to Hurricane...

At this time 911 is not responding, and pleas for help are going out on social media. https://a.msn.com/r/2/AAqOnSF?m=en-us When the rainfall turned torrential late Saturday night, and water began pouring into his living room, KeRon Hooey sloshed down the block to the highest ground in the neighborhood: his neighbor’s two-story house. He and 10 others, including two elderly neighbors, spent the night on the second floor, watching the waters rising out of the nearby Buffalo Bayou and spreading across their quiet subdivision, Wood Shadows II. All night, Hooey dialed emergency numbers – 911, 311, the Coast Guard, local police stations...

New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board director Cedric Grant blamed widespread flooding over the weekend on “climate change,” but it wasn’t long before news broke that broken water pumps were actually to blame. Throughout the week, media reports have shown that New Orleans’s antiquated water pumping system failed to keep flooding at bay, and the problem hasn’t been resolved. The mayor’s office warned Thursday morning a fire had taken out a turbine that powers most water pumping stations in the East Bank of New Orleans. With more heavy rain forecast for this week, Mayor Mitch Landrieu is asking residents to...

(Cullowhee, NC) Preparations for the the upcoming August 21st solar eclipse are in high gear at Western Carolina University. The school is located within the zone of totality in the mountainous part of the state. Afternoon classes will be cancelled and festivities on the Central Plaza will include Native American moon dancers, performance art and the Tasty Tofu Taco Truck, locally known as T4. But there are some students who will be refusing the eclipse and have demanded the University provide a safe space for them during the event. So far three groups have separately approached University officials with concerns...

For the arrival of his second attempt at environmental agitprop the former Vice President has increased the Eleven years after winning the Academy Award for his “documentary” (ahem) film Al Gore returns today triumphantly to… Erm, no. Gore revisits his monumentally respected — … nope, that’s not it either. Gore continues to authoritatively lead the climate change movement as the — Stop it. Let’s just say it like it is: Al Gore attempts to further cash in with his Chicken Little doomsday palaver with another film promising spurious “science”. His original film “An Inconvenient Truth” first became the touchstone piece...
