Police said that a wheelchair-bound military veteran told them he shot a teenager who was trying to rob him in downtown Houston, Texas. The incident unfolded near the intersection of Main Street and Pierce Street near the Downtown Transit Center at about 9 p.m. Monday night. A family's nearly two-decade wait to find out who killed their beloved daughter came to an end this month, as investigators announced an arrest in the cold case. The Orlando Police Department said Monday that 38-year-old Benjamin L. Holmes was arrested in the murder of Christina Franke. A gun-toting man on a bicycle in South Florida shot and killed a Doberman Saturday, saying the dog was threatening him.
