A new poll released today shows Elizabeth Warren leading Senator Scott Brown by 7 percentage points, one of the Democratic challenger’s largest leads in any poll taken in recent months. The poll, by Suffolk University/News 7, was released a day after a Boston Globe poll showed a much tighter race, with Brown leading by 2 percentage points. The Globe poll showed an exact tie when including responses from voters who did not express an initial preference but said they were leaning in one direction.

Republican incumbent Scott Brown and Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren both postponed campaigning Monday. Brown and Warren then announced they are pulling out of Tuesday's final debate. A Brown spokesman said the Republican incumbent decided against the debate "out of concern for the hardship faced by people in the path of Hurricane Sandy." Just last week, Brown pledged to attend the debate and even offered Warren a ride to the venue in his truck.

The marquee Senate race this year is in Massachusetts, where Democrat Elizabeth Warren is challenging incumbent Republican Sen. Scott Brown. "I never thought I'd run for public office, but I feel the urgency of this moment," says Warren. "If we don't make some important changes and make them soon, this country is going to change fundamentally, and it's not for the better." Democrats took notice of the former Harvard professor late last year, when a video of Warren speaking on fair taxation and debt surfaced online. "There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody," Warren...

  • Sen. Scott Brown: It doesn’t matter if Republicans win back the Senate

    10/24/2012 8:04:44 AM PDT · by Windy City Conservative · 67 replies
"For me it doesn't really matter who's in charge," says the junior senator, who adds the real problem is the dwindling number of moderate Democrats and Republicans in the Senate. "You still need to get to 60 votes," says Brown. "I'm tired of the gridlock. It makes me just so disgusted to walk in there and see, you know, the usual spotting on votes on both sides." Brown says if Republicans gain control of the Senate, Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., the current minority leader, will still have to "earn my vote."

In the final stretch of the Massachusetts Senate race between Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown and Democrat Elizabeth Warren, the Harvard Law School professor took time to shake hands and meet voters at a city bakery on Monday. During a visit that spanned nearly an hour, Warren took pictures with dozens of Latino residents inside the Puerto Rico Bakery on Armory Street while addressing some of the themes that have defined her candidacy. Alongside State Reps. Benjamin Swan and Sean Curran, both Springfield Democrats, Warren reiterated her belief that Washington is rigged for big business and that she wants to...

Minnesota Democratic Sen. Al Franken reminded a crowd of unionized health care workers here Saturday about the importance of their get-out-the-vote effort in the city and elsewhere for fellow Democrat Elizabeth Warren, who's running a close race against incumbent Massachusetts GOP Sen. Scott Brown. Franken -- elected to the Senate by a razor-thin 312 votes four years ago -- told members of SEIU Local 1199 that it's "absolutely critical" to knock on every door and make every phone call. "This is about turnout," he said. "No stones unturned," shouted a man in the crowd. Tim Foley, the union's political director,...

An Elizabeth Warren supporter is living out a Democratic nightmare right now as an unwitting prop for Republican Sen. Scott Brown’s campaign. Carol Gorman of Foxboro, a loyal Democrat, turned on her TV this week and was stunned to see herself shaking Brown’s hand and smiling in an ad where the GOP incumbent defends his record on women’s issues. Oh, the horror.
