I’ve received a lot of requests to comment on the recent arrest of a man who walked into a Springfield MO Walmart carrying a rifle, wearing body armor, and packing over 100 rounds of ammunition (all that according to news reports, of course). The man was held by gunpoint by another patron of the store, an off-duty firefighter, and turned over to responding Springfield police a few minutes later. The most common question sent my way is whether the patron who held the rifle-armed man at gunpoint did so unlawfully—what was the patron’s legal justification for threatening deadly force against...

Walmart is removing from its stores nationwide signs, displays or videos that depict violence following a mass shooting at one of its stores in Texas, though it has not changed its policy on gun sales. The retailer instructed employees in an internal memo to remove any marketing material, turn off or unplug video game consoles that show violent games — specifically Xbox and PlayStation consoles, and to monitor and turn off any violence depicted on screens in its electronics departments. Employees were also ordered to turn off hunting season videos in the sporting goods department where guns are sold. Under...

What a sick and evil self-hating kapo Ariel Gold is. The United States should classify Code Pink as an anti-Semitic hate-group. Code Pink National Co-Director Ariel Gold tries to use El Paso shooting against Israel “That the victims of the El Paso shooting were exploited in the anti-Israel cause says everything about the face of left-wing anti-Zionism.” By William A Jacobson, Legal Insurrection, August 4th, 2019: The spread of inaccurate information by mistake is compounded by the deliberate spread of false information enabled by social media. This initial media incompetence is often fed by an implicit bias to believe that...

After aging out of his family health insurance and switching to a cheaper over-the-counter insulin sold at Walmart, a young man with type 1 diabetes has died. Josh Wilkerson was 27 when he died this past June, The Independent reported Monday. When he turned 26 and became too old to remain on his stepfather’s health insurance, his other option was health insurance provided by his workplace, a dog kennel in Virginia. But that plan didn’t cover his $1,200 per month insulin costs. So in late 2018 he began using the ReliOn brand insulin sold over the counter at Walmart, which...

The bodies in El Paso were barely cold when Beto O’Rourke started blaming President Trump. “He is a racist, and he stokes racism in this country . . . We have a president with white nationalist views in the United States today,” the failing Democratic presidential candidate told CNN all Saturday night and Sunday. He likened Trump’s “anti-immigrant rhetoric” to something out of the Third Reich. “He is an open, avowed racist and is encouraging more racism in this country and this is incredibly dangerous . . . “Let’s connect the dots here on . . . who is responsible...

The left is trying to make political hay again over a mass shooting in El Paso and then another one in Dayton, blaming the whole thing on -- take your pick, guns, President Trump, or white supremacy. Just look at them go and this is hardly a comprehensive sampling of all versions of these same arguments out there:

Patrick Crusius was identified as the suspect in the shooting at Walmart near Cielo Vista Mall in El Paso, Texas, by multiple news outlets including NBC, CNN and USA Today. Saturday, in the aftermath of the El Paso mass shooting, near the scene, former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX), a candidate vying for the 2020 Democratic Party presidential nomination, blamed President Donald Trump in part for the day’s tragedy. O’Rourke called Trump a “racist” and accused the president of stoking racism, which he said could be a part of the alleged shooter’s motivations. “We’ve had a rise in hate crimes every single one of the last three years during an administration where you have a president who’s called Mexican rapists and criminals. Though Mexicans commit crimes at far lower rates than...
