The Carson City Sheriff's Office has two men behind bars who allegedly robbed a 100-year-old veteran at his home over Memorial Day weekend. According to Sheriff Ken Furlong, 27-year-old Robert Michael Hernandez or Carson City and 25-year-old Jordan Randall Burkhart, of Wellington, were arrested Wednesday. Sheriff Furlong says around 5 a.m. Sunday morning, deputies responded to a report of a home invasion and robbery at a home on Canvasback Drive. An 88-year-old World War II veteran was thrown in jail for not being able to afford repairs to his business. Kenneth Knudson’s jewelry store was deemed a public hazard zone and in need up updates. The city of Horton, Kansas offered to do the repair work for $10,000 dollars and apply it to his taxes. Knudson, whose jewelry store business is already struggling, said that was too expensive. On December 23, he appeared in court and told a judge he did not have the money. The judge then fined Knudson $100 dollars and put him in jail for one night.

GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4) – A patient had to have several toes removed after police in Greeley say a veterinarian provided medical care to him. Police said Thursday Fran Freemyer, 78, was unauthorized to provide medical treatments to humans but did so for at least one person. He was cited for practicing medicine without a license. Police said North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley contacted them earlier this summer about a 58-year-old man who said they were treated by Freemyer.
