For one Arizona Cardinals cheerleader, hearing the national anthem and seeing the American flag before games have a special meaning.

It wasn’t easy for Megan Welter to go from Iraq veteran to NFL cheerleader, but the journey, she said, was worth it.

“Our country has given us so many freedoms,” Welter told ABC15. “To be a part of fighting for that and maintaining that means a lot. It gives me goosebumps.”

The video at the link gives a much better idea — she's quite fit and attractive, IMO.

College grad, commissioned officer, seven years active duty, including service in Iraq. She now is a reserve Signal Corps officer with an MP battalion.

God bless her; she's a pretty cool gal. [My late father was a WWII combat vet and a career Army Signal Corps officer. He spoke of stringing wire & setting up comms for the division in pretty rough conditions, often in jungles and under fire.]
