The UK’s schools watchdog Ofsted found an Islamic primary school did not provide toilet paper for its pupils and had books written by a banned Islamic extremist in its library. The Olive Tree Primary School, a private Islamic school in the high-immigration population town of Luton, was already warned in May 2017 to remove “inappropriate” books that did not “promote British values”, but the material was found in a further inspection in November.

UK appoints loneliness minister to combat ‘sad reality of modern life’ By Tamar Lapin January 17, 2018 | 1:19pm For a “United” Kingdom — they’re pretty lonely. A minister for loneliness was appointed in Britain Wednesday to tackle Brits’ growing social isolation, Downing Street announced. “Both proud and humbled to be appointed #loneliness minister,” Tracey Crouch tweeted. Crouch, a 42-year-old minister for sport and civil society said she was up for the task of heading a government-wide group responsible for policies connected to loneliness, The Guardian reported. When announcing the appointment, Prime Minister Theresa May cited research stating that 9...

The Queen had just stepped out of a Rolls-Royce to greet 3,500 well wishers when a distinctive crack rang out across the grassy reserve. According to former Dunedin police det sgt Tom Lewis (no relation to the shooter), police immediately attempted to disguise the seriousness of the threat, telling the British press the noise was a council sign falling over. Later, under further questioning from reporters, they said someone had been letting off firecrackers nearby. According to Tom Lewis, the then prime minister Robert Muldoon feared if word got out about how close the teenager had come to killing the...
  • Dear President Trump: Churchill would have been a climate leader

There could be no starker illustration of the profound differences that exist between Washington and London -- despite alignment on many other issues -- than comments this week by our two leaders on climate change and the environment. For President Trump, the Paris Agreement is a bad deal that will close US businesses -- perhaps even has closed some already. Meanwhile, in London last week, Prime Minister Theresa May was launching the UK's 25-year Plan for Nature. Its flagship pledge is to "leave the environment in a better state than we found it". The evidence is entirely against the world...
  • Scottish Leader: Using Mass Migration to Grow Population ‘Most Important National Challenge’

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has announced the government is working to change the narrative around migration to persuade Scots that the nation needs huge numbers of people from abroad. Speaking at the launch of a Scottish government paper which argues for continuing open borders with Europe after Britain’s exit from the European Union (EU), the SNP leader claimed a population that is ever-expanding as a result of mass migration is “essential to our economic prosperity”.

European Union Council President Donald Tusk on Tuesday urged Britain to change its mind about leaving the bloc next year, as time to conclude a Brexit agreement runs short and EU leaders await more details on how the country sees their future ties. Britain is set to leave the EU on March 29, 2019, but the complex negotiations on its costly departure and future EU-U.K. relations must be concluded by October to leave parliaments time to ratify any agreement. […] “If the U.K. government sticks to its decision to leave, Brexit will become a reality, with all its negative consequences,...

The Dambusters Raid on the night of May 17, 1943, carried out by 19 Lancasters from Gibson’s squadron, has gone down in history as one of the most audacious exploits of World War II. Not only was the colossal Mohne dam breached, but a second, the Eder, was also smashed, while a third, the Sorpe, was damaged, though not broken. Although the attack cost the lives of 53 RAF airmen, it caused devastation to the German economy and gave a tremendous boost to public morale. The tale of the assault on the vast structures almost seemed a national metaphor for...

The argument started on UK reality television show Celebrity Big Brother, where minor celebrities are locked into a studio made to look like a house, then filmed 24/7. As might be expected in such a situation, tensions run high and conversations can be fractious. One of the housemates is India Willoughby, a TV journalist who had an established career as a man before transitioning to become a woman.

However, at the same time, biological men who regard themselves as women are being invited for cervical smear tests – even though it is impossible for them to have a cervix – an official guidebook states.

He will meet the Prime Minister and well its understood that he will urge the Prime Minister to allow more lone children as well as adult migrants with family members in the UK to cross the Channel to be housed in the United Kingdom. FURY erupted over fatcat pay at Carillion as the huge company went bust yesterday leaving 20,000 jobs on the brink. Its former chief executive, who left in disgrace last year as shares plunged, was revealed to have got a £600,000 bonus while leading the construction empire to its doom. Critics branded it farcical that Richard Howson, 49, was “rewarded for failure”. His pay and perks in 2016 totalled £1.5million. The company, which was also a major provider of services to hospitals and schools, went bankrupt with debts of £1.5billion after banks finally pulled the plug.

Police hunting moped attackers who sprayed a corrosive substance on two men have released an image of a suspect they are trying to trace. The two victims, 24 and 41, were sitting in a vehicle when they were targeted by two men on a moped in Fulham, south-west London, on New Year’s Eve. They were doused with a noxious substance that was later discovered to be ammonia at about 2.45pm in Waterford Road, Scotland Yard said. The older victim suffered facial burns and was taken to a central London hospital, while the other man was checked by paramedics at an...

BERLIN (Reuters) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel is considering joining French President Emmanuel Macron at the World Economic Forum in Davos next week in what could turn into an epic clash of competing world views with U.S. President Donald Trump. Merkel, who has been struggling to put together a government since a German election in September, had been expected to skip the annual gathering of leaders, CEOs, bankers and celebrities in the Swiss Alps for a third straight year. But after clinching a preliminary coalition agreement with the center-left Social Democrats (SPD) on Friday, German officials said Merkel could travel...

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The European Union’s trade tsar has no idea what Donald Trump will tell his audience at the World Economic Forum in Davos next week, but she is clear what the EU’s message to the U.S. president will be. America is shooting itself in the foot by withdrawing from global leadership on trade, Cecilia Malmstrom, the 49-year-old Swede who has served as Europe’s trade commissioner for the past three years, told Reuters. Under Malmstrom’s direction, the EU has juggled a dizzying array of trade talks over the past year. In July it clinched a preliminary deal with Japan....

The progressive billionaire speculator George Soros has said he will ‘fight back’ against the “dominant ideology” of nationalism, whilst admitting that favoured globalist project the European Union is “on the verge of a breakdown”. Wistfully writing that Soros’s Open Society Foundations (OSF) once ‘epitomised the optimism about the spread of Western-style democracy’ after the fall of the Soviet Union, the Financial Times described the scrutiny the global progressive body is experiencing amidst a wave of patriotism and populism and the ‘wilting’ attraction of the leftist agenda. Soros, alluding to the collapse of the USSR, told the left-liberal newspaper: “It’s déjà...

Iran’s missile program has been the target of criticism by the US and the European Union for quite some time. When Yemeni Houthi rebels launched a missile toward Saudi Arabia on November 5, 2017, Iran was accused of having supplied it to them, a charge Iranian officials categorically denied. But on Friday, January 12, a United Nations panel concluded that the Islamic Republic had violated a UN arms embargo by directly or indirectly providing missiles and drones to the Shi'ite rebels in Yemen. In the 79-page report, the panel accuses Iran of violating UN Security Council Resolution 2216, passed in...

(excerpt "The panel said it came to the conclusion that Iran had manufactured the weapons the Yemeni rebels fired at Saudi Arabia, which leads an Arab coalition fighting on the side of the government against the rebels in Yemen's civil war. The panel said it found that design features of the missile debris were "consistent with those of the Iranian-designed and...

WASHINGTON, DC – President Donald Trump’s decision to keep the United States in the Iran nuclear deal on Friday was coupled with a warning to his European allies: “Fix the deal’s disastrous flaws, or the United States will withdraw.” “Despite my strong inclination, I have not yet withdrawn the United States from the Iran nuclear deal. Instead, I have outlined two possible paths forward: either fix the deal’s disastrous flaws, or the United States will withdraw,” Trump said in a statement. He added: I am waiving the application of certain nuclear sanctions, but only in order to secure our European...
