Oklahoma U.S. Senate candidate T.W. Shannon called Planned Parenthood "the true face of White supremacy in America" in a new campaign ad that debuts on Thursday. "The truth is, there is nobody, no organization, more racist than Planned Parenthood," Shannon told Fox News Digital, saying he wants to enlighten the American people about the organization’s history. The ad, which features Shannon outside a Planned Parenthood facility, begins by calling founder Margaret Sanger a "vile racist" because of her support for eugenics that often targeted people of color. "400,000 Black babies killed every year since Roe v. Wade," Shannon says as...

At just 44 years old, T.W. Shannon is mounting his second bid for the Senate. For the second time, the Oklahoma Republican is running in a special election to fill the remainder of a six-year term being vacated prematurely by a GOP incumbent. This time, it's Sen. James Inhofe, 87, who was first elected in 1994 and is resigning from Congress at year’s end. So, what dragged Shannon, now chief executive officer of a community bank in Oklahoma City, out of political retirement since his first (and unsuccessful) campaign for Senate eight years ago? ... “My story is unique, and...

The race for retiring Senator Jim Inhofe’s coveted seat added another Republican competitor on Thursday, with former Speaker of the Oklahoma House T.W. Shannon announcing his candidacy.

fter Ben Sasse's primary win in Nebraska's GOP Senate primary last month, it seemed like former conservative Oklahoma House Speaker T.W. Shannon was next. Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Mike Lee (R-UT), all of whom had backed Sasse, campaigned for Shannon, helping him erase a 35-point deficit in the GOP Oklahoma Senate primary against Rep. James Lankford (R-OK). Shannon had the wind at his back and Lankford, the 5th-ranking member of House GOP leadership, seemed vulnerable in a state that has not elected someone from Oklahoma City to the Senate since 1960. But Lankford's...

Edit: For anyone who is interested, I’ve pasted the links to the debate from last night (06/18/2014) between TW and Lankford. I do not know why it is in 4 parts. I tried to embed the video, but it did not work for me. Sorry about that.

Ted Cruztook a victory lap of sorts this week after Eric Cantor's primary defeat. And why shouldn't he? The junior senator from Texas helped fuel the anti-establishment furies that devoured the House majority leader. "This election should be a reminder to all in Congress—Republicans and Democrats alike—that the conservative base is alive and well, and the American people will hold us all accountable," said Mr. Cruz. "Each of us needs to do what we said we would do and tell the truth." If this sounds like a threat, that's because it is.Mr. Cruz is wont to criticize Republican politicians who...

Former Oklahoma House Speaker T.W. Shannon is surging in the Oklahoma Senate Republican primary and now leads the other frontrunner in the race, Rep. James Lankford, in a new survey out from a pro-Shannon group. The survey, conducted by the GOP firm Public Opinion Strategies for Oklahomans for a Conservative Future, gives Shannon 42 percent support among likely Republican primary voters to Lankford’s 32 percent support. That’s a gain of 19 points from another survey in mid-March, when Lankford led Shannon by nine points. The third candidate in the race, former state Sen. Randy Brogdon, takes just seven percent support...

In January of 2013 T.W. Shannon established two milestones. He became the first black speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives. And, at the age of 34, he became Oklahoma’s youngest House speaker in history. Also noteworthy is that this young black American is a Republican. Now T.W. Shannon is making new headlines. He has stepped down from his position as House speaker to run for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Oklahoma Republican Senator Tom Coburn. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Tex) has just joined Senator Mike Lee (R-UT), Dr. Ben Carson and Sarah Palin in endorsing Shannon. Should Shannon...

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz threw his support behind T.W. Shannon in Oklahoma's GOP senate primary, The Hill reported. Shannon is a former state House Speaker. This was the first primary endorsement made by Cruz, who has a strong following among tea party-aligned Republicans. The endorsement allows him to honor his pledge not to back insurgents in primaries involving Senate GOP colleagues, The Washington Post reported. Shannon is in an open primary. A special election in November will fill the seat being vacated by Republican Sen. Tom Coburn two years before his term ends in 2016. Cruz plans to attend...

Freepers should be aware there is an intense battle going on in Oklahoma for the US Senate Seat there being vacated by RINO Tom Coburn. The choice is between James Lankford And... TW SHANNON Lankford is being backed by special interest groups, McCain and Huckabee. Shannon is being backed by Sarah, Mark Levin, Senate Conservatives Fund and Dr. Ben Carson. This is freaking OKLAHOMA! There's no reason we shouldn't elect the MOST CONSERVATIVE Senator in the Entire Nation! Obama didn't win ONE COUNTY either election!!!! Lankford's record is clear. He supports AMNESTY for illegals, and voted for Obamacare FOUR TIMES....

Conservative talk radio host Mark Levin endorsed Oklahoma Senate candidate T.W. Shannon Monday. Shannon, arguably the most conservative House Speaker in Oklahoma's history, has been surging in the polls, propelled in part by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's endorsement. Shannon trailed Rep. James Lankford (R-OK) by 35 points but has closed the gap to single digits in a poll taken four days after Palin's endorsement. "I've taken a very close look at this race and have talked to a number of folks who know Shannon," Levin wrote on his Facebook page. "I want to join great conservatives, like my friend...

The special-election primary to replace resigning Oklahoma Sen. Tom Coburn is tightening after an advertising blitz benefiting Republican state Speaker T.W. Shannon. A poll conducted by Public Opinion Strategies on behalf of Oklahomans for a Conservative Future, an outside group backing Shannon, found the state speaker cutting into the early GOP primary lead of Rep. James Lankford. Lankford, who is the favorite to fill the remaining two years of Coburn’s term, led with 37 percent, followed by Shannon with 28 percent and former state Sen. Randy Brogdon with 7 percent. A half dozen candidates are running to replace Coburn, a...

Sarah Palin on Wednesday endorsed former Oklahoma House speaker T.W. Shannon (R) for his state's open U.S. Senate seat. Shannon is running against Rep. James Lankford and a number of other candidates in the Republican primary to replace Sen. Tom Coburn (R). The 36-year old has gotten some early buzz as the first African American to serve as House speaker in Oklahoma, but he remains an underdog, according to the most recent polls. "T.W.’s opponent has the backing of Beltway insiders, but T.W. has the passion and experience We the People need in Washington," Palin wrote on her Facebook page....

We knew Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn would be retiring after his 2nd term in the United States Senate, but we really didn't expect him to cut that term short. That is exactly what he has done, announcing his early retirement at the end of 2014. Several reasons played into that decision, including his health and his desire to spend more time with his family. I suspect he has also tired of playing the games that are required in the Senate. Regardless of his reasons, it is now time to find a successor to Tom Coburn. While that may sound easy...

Oklahoma House Speaker T.W. Shannon is forming an exploratory committee to look more closely at a potential run in the special election for retiring Sen. Tom Coburn’s (R-Okla.) seat, multiple sources tell The Hill. Shannon’s office declined to comment, but sources say he's now expected to run. One source tells The Hill Shannon has received dozens of calls from supporters “very enthusiastically encouraging him to run” since Coburn’s announcement last week that he’ll retire at the end of the year. Shannon would run as a conservative alternative to Rep. James Lankford (R-Okla.), who entered the race Monday to considerable pushback...

Just days after Sen. Tom Coburn’s (R-Okla.) announcement that he’ll retire at the end of the year, the race to replace him began to settle with Rep. James Lankford (R) expected to announce his decision to run at a Monday-afternoon press conference, sources tell The Hill. Rep. Tom Cole (R) announced in a Sunday-night press release that he will not run, citing his seniority in the House. The state’s attorney general, Scott Pruitt (R), also announced in a Sunday Facebook post he won’t run. The decisions of Rep. Jim Bridenstine (R) and Oklahoma House Speaker T.W. Shannon still remain unclear....
